Marginal costing is a costing method that determines the cost of a product by considering only the variable production cost, the variable cost of a product is the summation of direct material, direct labour, direct expenses and variable production overhead. In marginal costing , fixed production overhead is usually treated as fixed cost and written off in full against total contribution.
