*FATHERS ARE THE BEDROCK OF THE FAMILY, SAYS CHIEF DR. GEORGE MOGHALU*

As the Anglican Church marks the Fathers Day celebration, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), congratulates all fathers and reiterates that they are the rock upon which the family is built.

In his congratulatory message to fathers which was made available to the public, the NIWA boss stated that he holds fathers to high esteem and honour the critical role played by them which forms the very foundation of the family.

"Fathers are teachers, mentors and role models", he said.

He urged fathers to continue setting the example and instilling the ethics of excellence to their children.

Chief Dr. George Moghalu also expressed his concern and stated that he understands the current toll it takes to be a father especially amid the grip with which Covid-19 has held the entire world.
However, he enjoined fathers to remain fervent in Christ and rekindle their faith in Him who overcame persecution, sufferings and displayed unwavering endurance to the end.

Chief Moghalu further affirms that he is aware of the challenges faced by the fatherless children even as we celebrate this occasion.

This, he said necessitated, for instance the launch of programmes through one of his philanthropic arms; the Zimuzo Foundation aimed at helping such vulnerable children to obtain UTME forms freely for them and other strategies very critical towards their accessing to quality and all-round education and enhancing that they learn several skills for their development.

Chief George Moghalu thanked all fathers and prayed God to grant them longer life and means to continue guarding their homes and protecting their children from all abuse and exploitation especially over the recent spate of violence against minors.
