The people Democratic Party(PDP) has grants waiver to governor Godwins Obaseki of Edo State and his deputy Philip Shuaibu, to enable them contest the party’s gubernatorial Primary.

The party made this announcement in a statement singed by it National Public Secretary Kola Ologbondinya, on Sunday, June 21,2020.

According to the party, the waiver will enable the governor to contest in the party's gubernatorial primary while is deputy Philip Shuaibu takes part in the party's nomination process.

Furthermore, the party said, the governorship primary has been shifted from the early slated date Tuesday June 23, to Thursday June 23, 2020.
