The Federal Government on Monday in Abuja admitted that about 12,000 N-Power beneficiaries are yet to be paid their three- month stipends. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq confirmed this at the media briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

FG not employing N-Power beneficiaries into Civil Service on June 12 It would be recalled that the federal government recently announced that it would be disengaging 500,000 beneficiaries of the scheme who were enrolled between 2016 and 2018. The minister attributed the delay in the payment of the 12,000 volunteers to administrative issues, saying her ministry was working with the office of the Account General to resolve it.

“As far as the ministry is concerned, we have paid N-Power beneficiaries that have been verified and recommended for payment. We have 500,000 N-Power volunteers. “Those who are claiming that they have not been paid, we are looking into these issues with the Office of the Account General of the Federation.

“We have had issues around migrating from the platform that we used to operate to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) platform. “So, these are the administrative issues that have hindered the payment of some of the volunteers.”

“There are about 12,000 of them based on our record and as I am speaking with you, the permanent secretary of the ministry is in the office of the accountant general to sort out these issues and once we get the report, we will make it available to all.”

Incompetence at it peak.

It took over 4 months to migrate and it is taking to close to another 4 months to resolve issues around the migration. This woman is actually not in charge of the humanitarian aspect of the ministry but specialises in the disaster aspect without the management part.

it would have been better they used the Npower funds to train youth as entrepreneur/farmers instead of wasting it on ₦30k monthly stipends.

imagine giving them like ₦500k to ₦1m each as start up capital. indirect jobs will be created, tax will be paid and the economy will benefit.

This woman called Sadiya Farouk is not fit to be a women leader talkless of a Minister, she's the epitome of incompetence just like Buhari, the Npower was doing fine when it was under the Vice president office, but it is all shambles now that the Hajiya has taken over, she doesn't care to pay the Stipends yet her own salary is always intact.

I don't know what the ish with some of us is. While it's free money to some, some are really working their butts out more than the permanent staff of FG. At least, I know of some that are volunteers working in one of the FMCs that are diligent than those PSs.

Not all of us are lazy Nigerians or none-believer in Nigeria project. The unseriousness of the ministry will make them lose more.

The disaster minister. Always in the news for incompetence, errors and mistakes.

She has an MBA and is by age the youngest minister, she's supposed to be the brightest and sharpest but no, incompetence upon incompetence. MBA holder that doesn't know what imprest means.
