Shipping from the US depends on a lot of things. What are you shipping? Where are the goods located? Because lets say your goods is located in the West coast, even though shipping might be a little costlier there, it might not be economical for you to transport to another port simply because its cheaper.

Also, you will need to pay for packing the of the container. Cost of packing also will depend on what type of product/merchandise you are packing.

So you need to answer all these questions before you proceed.

Regards.

Let's assume that all of the major suppliers are near port cities. I'm assuming that shipping from the east coast or the gulf is cheaper than going through the Panama Canal. Packing costs are included in the price of the merchandise and is the same for all suppliers.
I'm assuming the per mile cost of the local trip from the supplier to the port might vary a bit, but not enough to make a significant difference for a supplier that's within 60 miles of the port.
Basically the only unknown variable I have is the relative shipping costs from the different ports.

Then its cheaper to ship out of East Coast port. (JAX, Baltimore or New York)

Good luck out there.
