With the current pandemic in play(Covid-19),it is important for patients with this disorder to stay up-to-date with current information about their condition and how it relates with corona virus infection.

The immune system of people living with HIV/AIDS can not properly defend the body against pathogens/foreign body and as such they are view as at risk patients for various disease conditions.

Therefore it is important for people living with Hiv/Aids to adopt the following;

1) Take proper and proactive steps to prevent getting infected with covid-19 by adopting the WHO guideline on social distancing and proper personal and environmental hygiene,use of face mask etc.

2)Ensure you eat proper diet, exercise as best as you can (even at home), and looking after your mental health.

3)Stock up your medications(ARDs) and maintain the dosage and frequency.

4)Keep in touch with your doctor and health facility.Go to the hospital only when needed.

5)Ensure your vaccinations are up-to-date.

6)Adopt healthy habits such as quitting smoking,alcoholism,unprotected sex etc

Having these health conditions is never a death sentence as such proper preventive and curative approach is required.
