The Federal Government is expected to announce the next phase of eased lockdown in the country on Tuesday (tomorrow).

Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, made this known on Monday.

He disclosed this after the task force met with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the Presidential Villa.

The PUNCH had reported that members of the task force were led to the meeting by Mustapha to the meeting.

Others in the delegation were the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire; the Coordinator of the PTF on COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu; and the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu.

The meeting, it was learnt, was meant to brief Buhari on the ongoing efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 and the next steps to be taken.

The problem with this country is nobody is ready to do what is just right. No body adheres to the rules and regulations not even the makers of the laws. Another one is one-way thinking; no knowledge of what has to be done. These people are only doing trial and error with all their submissions. Somebody is calling for a fresh lockdown when they know they have no planning of disbursing relief funds.



Abeg anything different from opening up the economy fully, we no wan here.

Covid 19 is real....okay!
I no argue, but then until I hear of any person around me, who knows another person that knows of a person that now knows a person who has died of it , edakun allow us to live our lives.

It hasn't been easy for people like us with OCD.
The mental torture of Washing hands after touching anything and cleaning everything we bought, wearing masks and running away from everyone close to us is taking its toll on me.

Another set of people planning to cash out again...

The truth is there was never any proper lockdown in this country. What we have is just an economic and academic lockdown. People still travel from maiduguri to lagos, kids are just playing in the street all day, among adults, social distance is a joke. What they succeeded in doing was just to lock up schools, markets and worship places, aside that every other social interaction still goes on.

It going to be a tough decision for FG but I think people are tired already ... However, our safety is very key
