COVID-19: CAF Postpones 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations by Amotolongbo(f): 4:07pm On Jun 30, 2020
The Confederation of African Football Executive Committee on Tuesday announced the postponement of the 2021 African Nations Championship by one year.

The decision was reached after the committee met via video-conference to discuss the future of competitions and other related issues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After consultation with stakeholders and taking into consideration the current global situation, the tournament has been rescheduled for January 2022. The date for the final tournament and the remaining matches of the qualifiers will be communicated in due course,” the football body said in a statement.

This is not a big news, by the way because since the likes of Jay Jay, Etoo', Drogba retired, the Afcon hasn't been the same again....now we have players playing for money and while showcasing boring skiles

Jurgen Klopp will be the happiest person with this news. The French league won't like it cos it will still take place in January rather than the reverted June.

It's the same year for World Cup in Qatar but World Cup will come around November.

May God spare our lives beyond then.

CAF should have waited till 2021 before taking the decision. Who knows, the pandemic would have gotten to an end before December.
