the last time i checked, democracy was defined as the govt of the ppl, by the ppl and for the ppl. it is not the govt of abia by aro and for the state no. in any way a group of ppl are divided, let everybody have a taste of it. let everyman be a participant especcially with the criminal minded thieves we have arround. marginalization is an english language so it was not formed in nigeria or abia by abians. wether senatorial or clans, let there be zoning. i am from imo state and my village or councellorship ward was informally zoned and at any given time, we know the ward to produce the councellor so it is always left for them to produce any number of candidates from there we will choose. it can't be better than that. let everybody contribute his quota in the development or whatever in his area. it is the same thing the igbos are crying for. why is it always coming that for one reason or the other, the igbos will be denied of their right to participate in the governance of the country. is any slowpoke born to rule? if yes, what have they achieved in all these years? ngwa ppl have what it takes to rule abia for years as they have a very large population compared to other clans in abia yet they have never been the state gov. in abia state and in ngwa particular, the use of that word MARGINALIZATION is more than justified. |

byrron: THANK YOU MY DEAR FELLOW. YOU ARE INDEED WELL VERSED IN ABIA STATE POLITICS. I GUESS HIS ANTICS IS TO CURRY THE FAVOUR OF THE NGWAS AND GET BACK AT T.A ORJI FOR HIS BETRAYAL. THIS JUST SHOWS THAT A WILD ANIMAL BEING RESTRAINED BY A LEASH IS STILL A WILD ANIMAL AND CAN ALWAYS TURN ON ITS TRAINER. WHAT IS THE ASSURANCE THAT IF THIS NGWA GUY WINS, HE WOULDNT JUST TURN ON KALU ORJI? ABEG, ABIA STATE POLITICS IS A POLITICS OF CONFUSION (PLS BEAR IN MIND THAT I AM AN ABIAN, AMAEKPU, OHAFIA LGA) |

How can the Ngwa be marginalized, even though they are the most populous clan in Abia State, and not even in Abia State but in Igboland in general? The Ngwa are the largest Igbo clan, yet they are supposedly "marginalized." I don't understand. Am from the Bende zone and I never heard anyone trying to marginalize the Ngwa. Even the small clans from Umuahia are able to have elected officials, so why are the Ngwa different? |
Re: Kalu Backs Ngwa To Produce Abia Gov by FACE(m): 10:39pm On Feb 01, 2011 |
Anyone that claims that Ngwa people are being marginalised is being mischievous and anyone that says that Abia residents deserve the rulers they get is devious, because elections are hijacked by few individuals nationwide and in a lot of cases the winners are not a reflection of people's votes, so why single out Abia. Does anyone really think that Orji would win again in a free and fair election ? Abia has had the following governors: Frank Ajobena , Ogbonnaya Onu , Ike Nwosu , Temi Ejoor , Moses Fasanya , Anthony Obi , Orji Uzor Kalu and Theodore Orji. None of those people are from Abia state except for the last two who also robbed the state to stupor like their predecessors. Who, exactly has been marginalising Ngwa people ? How many governors have Ukwa,Ndoki,Oboro,Asa, Umuahia,Arochukwu, Isukwuato, Ovim, Ohafia, etc produced in the state ? What do the others have that Ngwa people do not have ? We need to haul our freights quick time in Abia and we have no time for primitive pathetic clannish cries. The truth is that Ngwa people have been short changed alongside other Abians from all parts of the state. With the industrial base in Abia, should Imo state be doing better than Abia ? But Imo is doing better, even with their sub-mediocre governor. We Abians should look for true change and do our bit by voting who we feel is the right candidate for the job regardless of where the person comes from. If INEC should get their acts right, maybe, the polling machines would work and our votes would count. |

Just like with the Igbo and presidency, I don't believe the Ngwa really need that governorship, and to be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of an Ngwa person as governor. |
Re: Kalu Backs Ngwa To Produce Abia Gov by dempeople(m): 11:25pm On Feb 01, 2011 |
@ Ezeuche and other clannish Ndigbo, Please brothers, its not mandatory neither is it necessary at any point that someone from our clans or towns must be the Gov. of a given state. I'm from Anambra but never knew or cared about Peter Obi's town of origin until last Feb. election. I'm from Ujari (Ajalli) and historically, we migrated from Arochukwu. I never lean-on to Arochukwu despite the fact that I'm an ARO man. I would definitely like to see an Igboman from another state running things in Anambra and vice versa. We should be thinking more of ourselves as Ndigbo and not about our clans/towns. Ndigbo are Ndigbo and are one and the same no matter the state of origin. One love to you my fellow umunne. |
Re: Kalu Backs Ngwa To Produce Abia Gov by ChinenyeN(m): 12:17am On Feb 02, 2011 |
. . . and that's why you all are Anambra and we are not. Clan matters. That's just the reality of it all. |

I must say that Aba needs massive investment. That city is being under utilized which is a pity. To be honest, Abia is not progressing. No corner of Abia has been "favored." We still have the same rogues in office. I hope APGA wins in Abia. No one I know based in Abia is supporting PDP or PPA. |
Re: Kalu Backs Ngwa To Produce Abia Gov by yarodin: 12:29am On Feb 02, 2011 |
ChinenyeN: And why do you think it is not a good idea for an Ngwa man to be governor? I am not saying any Ngwa man should be governor, I am quite sure we have some Ngwa Politicians that are as bad if not worse than Orji Kalu and the present Governor. |

Re: Kalu Backs Ngwa To Produce Abia Gov by ChinenyeN(m): 12:46am On Feb 02, 2011 |
yarodin:I'm not saying that it isn't a good idea, neither am I saying that it is. Instead, I'm more concerned with how this will reflect on the rest of Ngwa. For years, I've heard talks of political marginalization from my elders and politically aware family/friends back in ala Ngwa. Now if care is not taken, and an incompetent Ngwa man takes office, we Ngwa will not hear the end of it. I do not feel comfortable with an Ngwa in office, unless we are able to hold him accountable, because he will be representing us. Regardless of him being 'just one man', an individual, the truth is that he will be seen as representing us. That is one reason, and the most important reason, to me. |

EzeUche_: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No ooo. I've not forgotten. As a matter of fact, most or all of our traditions in Ajalli are Arochukwu traditions. Aro mma mmanu! I want to visit Arochukwu soon on my next trip to 9ja. Ajalli people are very proud of their roots. In fact the way we "aronize" our ways, you'll think you're in Arochukwu. Its just that the language has changed which of course, its entirely due to geographical location etc. I heard Arochukwu version of Igbo is different of course. I'm still very proud of Anambra and indeed, Alaigbo. |

If the T.A. Orji has been elected governor of Abia State, anybody from Ngwaland is qualified to be governor of Abia State. |

I think we need change in Abia. The present govnor hasnt done anything in the last four yrs.No project has been commissioned since this man came into office. He claims Abia has been in bondage but he has been buying houses in Nigeria and abroad.A case is where he bought the entire houses in one street in Umuahia and renamed the street "Ochendo Close".He owes contractors billions of naira. He now set up his own construction company,New Idea, which is handling some of the roads in the state. This man collects N700m as his security vote every month. This man collects N30m on every oh his official trip to Abj which is becoming more often since he joined PDP.I reside in Abia and have friends who are his aids. |

Pornodude is a b.a,stard, choke on a di.ck. All u petty traders that sit in Aba and rain insults on the Ngwa people that were grateful enough to welcome u in their midst, are going to get what you have been asking for one of these days. U think you are special because every christmas you all climb into those lorries like sardines and go back to those hills and caves you come from, I don't have an iota of respect for any i.diot that thinks he can emerge from no where to insult my folks. All that mature politics that our fathers tried to play with u people is about to be over, because half human beings like you are beginning to mistake us for cowards. An Ngwa individual is bound to emerge as governor in 2015, at which point you can go ahead and commit suicide!!! To all the reasonable Igbo folks here, I apologize for my outburst, but I cant stand such imbeciles. |

Kc3000: Apology accepted. You are still our brother. Don't mind him. Its all about who is best in the state to lead the people. Maybe his own clan has not ruled Abia also. |
