Obedience is one of the major virtues and most important lessons learned from stories, rhymes, songs, and advice from our parents, school, religion, and community. We are taught to obey authority figures because they are wiser, smarter, and more experienced. Never doubt their words, their orders. But self-development teachings like introspection, courage, self-esteem, and consciousness, and so on are seldom taught, in schools, and by some parents and leaders. Introspection: the examination of one's own mental and emotional processes. Cognition: the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. Courage: makes you overcome failure, rejection, and take the first steps towards success. Self-esteem: strongly influence and motivate you to make choices and decisions. Self-consciousness: Signifies emotional maturity, drive and judges one's personal behaviour to be good or bad. Is obedience always right? Could it be a threat to self-development?
