Lol ... I'm even worse. I remember when my ex took me swimming, even at the shallow feet I still nearly drown. Lol.. I just stayed in one place while him and the others swam far deep into the pool. I can't swim oo and I will never dare it again.

This is sad and totally unacceptable!

What has the regulatory body done to ensure compliance? How many spot checks have they carried out to ensure that their regulations are followed for the safety of the operators and passengers? How many boat operators have been sanctioned for none compliance in the past?

It is not enough to have rules in place ; enforcement is more important. Whatever is not measured is usually not done.

The investigation should demand to see the evidence that the regulatory authorities actually discharged their responsibilities to ensure smooth and safe water transportation system which averts unnecessary deaths like this.

Those official at point of departure are to be held responsible for this lapses.No manifest,departed against the time,three maybe they have no live jacket on and four the boat driver is not a registered members.Why would any official over look all these lapses and government still want to investigate without held themselves accountable.. Charity begin at home..is because government always protect or blame their official from any wrong doing that is why we will continue having the same problem repeatedly..

If you are frequent user of marine transportation, get a tested life jacket for your personal use. Most of the life jackets handed to commuters by the operators are either expired, inferior or unsuitable.

It is God that protects us but we also have a role to play by investing in PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT.

May their souls find rest.

I tot as much if at all they had any. You know Govt things.. always inferior. I think its best to get a quality life jacket for personal use if your movement requires using boats.
