read through the post its self explanatory.........since you are in tanzania..its not possible for me to help.
if you are sure..ur car has the famous problem..my advice is to stop driving the car...buy a refurbished ecm from usa, ebay might be a good place to search..............or you could contact OROZ, he claims to be able to fix the ecm.

AFTER EADING THROUGH UR MAIL..I MIGHT BE TEMPTED TO BELIEVE THAT UR gearbox has been wrecked..a new/used gearbox shud be in ur budget

@ earthrealm, Its true that at first place when we suffered the problem, we did dismentle the gearbox and found bent sump and clutch rings burned and we decided to change pressure rings too, and refitted the gearbox accordingly, the car ran as new that day, the very next day,we started experiencing the problem of sluggish take off and gear change problem.. well after doing diagnosis and we got error codes of like PO750 /53 AND MORE , W e did rectify those and for that day it was fine again, the next day the problem came back, well i think let me get the ECM repaired and see whats the outcome... well do you have OZOR's email id or contact no? thanks - Mohamed - Tanzania.

ok, if that the caser,,then u need a refurbished ecm n not a reprogmmed ecm...reprograming doesn't solve the problem.

the error code you got is synominous with the famous rav4 ecm problem,,,,the only puzzle is why the famous ecm problem surfaced immediately u had the problem with ur transmission pan

I don't hv oroz contact, but he frequents this thread//..so he shud be able to respond to ur requests soon

SORRY, i did not ans your thread in full, i asked the same to my mecanic that why the ecm problem came when we had the problem with pan bang and clutdh rings? but still he honestly told me,he still wonders which was the first problem at the first place,according to myself, i will explain this way...in first place, it started jerking very badly and sluggish,i didnt notice abt gear change problem at the first place,due to immediate dismentling of the gearbox followed by repair of pan and change of clutch n pressure rings,after fitting back the gearbox, we started experiecing lose of power and gear change problem, then other mecanic diagnosed while driving,while driving we noticed that bad jerking problem got over, so now, we were dealing with lose of power bad gear change and he said he has set the ecm and its fine now, he left like 15 miniutes on idle,then he asked me to test drive. and that day the rav4 ran like new, the very next day, the probem of bieng slugish started again, and that happened for next three times, set,drive good and the following day the problem is still there, i asked the mecanic who diagnosed and set the ecm, whats the exact problem with ecm? you set and next day it disrupts the setting?he told me that he himself is confused now, why this ecm is behaving like this,the codes he read were some how like those i mentioned, but he insists that the ecm be replaced, but both mecanics arent sure that this problem will be solved after replacing ecm, my mecanic is now suggesting TO REMOVE 1 AZ FSE D4 COMPLETELY and replace with used 3S or 1NZ VVT-I engine,gearbox,with their appropriate ecm if possible, i am still reluctant on his suggestion, well this is it till date..
