The Independent National Electoral Commission in Edo State said it has received non-sensitive materials for the September 19 governorship election in the state.

The Public Affairs Officer of INEC in the state, Tina Obamogie, said in an interview with The PUNCH that the materials had been distributed to the 18 Local Government Areas ahead of the election.

She also disclosed that the commission would use the 2019 voters register for the election which has 2, 210, 334 registered voters, adding that due to the COVID-19 pandemic there would be no distribution of unclaimed Permanent Voters Cards.

No fewer than 14 political parties will be participating in the election.

She said, “We have taken receipt of non-sensitive materials and we have distributed them to the respective LGAs.

“There are 483, 868 unclaimed Permanent Voters Card, but due to the ongoing scourge of coronavirus pandemic, this is not the period to distribute PVCs. Anything that has to do with the collection is not done this period because of COVID-19.

“We had the intention to distribute before the lockdown but we are considering the safety of lives this period. For that reason, we would rely on the 2019 voters register which has 2, 210, 334 registered voters.”

In Naija elections, the votes doesn't matter as much as the counting...Most times you rarely get what you want after marriage and elections, so good luck to the people of Edo

These useless set of people are planning on conducting election and yet they are putting us on lock down all in the name of corona. They make funny rules which does not favour us and yet one mumu some where will say schools should not open
Anybody that will come online again and say schools should not open all in the name of corona will have me to contend with. Before u ask me if I am a school teacher ; "No" neither nor am I a student
This nonsense hypocrisy must stop

Judgement day looms, that day is inevitable.

PDP with Kola and his big mouth have been hurting Obaseki's chances by flexing muscle with APC.

All this bragging and shoulder raising with Wike and co would only make the Federal forces more desperate to take Edo state for APC.
It wouldn't be a new thing in Nigeria if certain top APC officials even without the input of Buhari decide to give INEC a matching order to deliver Edo.
Na new thing for Naija? Worst thing is to wail for 1 week and then keep quiet.
Heaven has never fallen and it will not start falling with Edo.

Edo is easy to rig. Edo is neither Rivers nor Akwa Ibom nor Abia nor Enugu, where PDP is overwhelmingly as strong as 80 percent to 20 percent.

The geography of Edo which places it as South South is what is deceiving these wailers.
Edo is maximum 60 percent PDP and 40 percent APC.
60 max!
Making it a fertile ground and perfect rigging "specimen"

APC will win Edo and Ize Iyanmu will be declared winner.

In-fact I already see Kola Olabodiyan rejecting the results and calling on INEC to cancel the election.
