bro no dey use Nigeria and the bolded in the same sentence abeg... oyo state alone is doing better than the 3 combine both in finance and standard of life..

That's being said...

The solution to Nigeria problem is simple
1. There should be political reformation.. there should be 500% salary reduction for every political office holders
2. There should be economy diversification.. government should concentrate on agriculture and technology
3. Education should be given needed attention.. atleast 15 percent of gdp should be spent on education..
4. Taxation.. in america, two things are the surest ..a. Death b. Tax..every Nigerian and institution should be mandated to pay tax.. including church, mosque etc..
5. Government should encourage BOT( BUILT, OPERATE AND TRANSFER) in every project( infrastructures , social amenities etc.).. instead of embarking on project they know they wont complete due to lack of fund.. instead they should partner with private companies and strike a deal on BOT..
6. Local products should be encouraged no matter how inferior it is.. sooner or later.. we go perfect.. there should be minimal importation..

6. Whistleblowing should be encouraged.. atleast putting bounty on every criminal exposure..

Lastly , jobless people and older people should be paid stipend monthly .. and retirement age should be pegged at 60..

Without even assessing whether your theories are achievable or not, you and the other person just took me back to my first time on Nairaland when intelligent discussions were the order of the day. That being said, building a nation is not easy and Nigerians don't presently have a nation, we only have a state. I don't think we can ever make Nigerian a nation we can only build nations within it and then come together as a state (regionalism).

However, this will take conscientiousness and a high level of sincerity between the people and the leaders. The people won't change but a long term leadership seriousness will turn an average Nigeria into an ideal Nigerian. How do we get to this level? Those who profit from the current structure are not going to give up soon and a revolution will only send us back to 1966.

The way forward ought to be a bloodless, intercessory revolution. But how about those who enjoy the benefits of Quota System and feudalism?

the easiest way forward is restructuring.
You don't expect us to go and begs whites to return to Africa do you?
Let's look at smaller African countries.
Rwanda is the fastest developing African country
Gabon, Botswana, Equitorial Guinea, seyshells etc are all growing.

We should decentralise power in Nigeria. The FG should only have the following exclusive role
Military
Foreign affairs
Currency and banking
Customs
Immigration

While the 36 states should have the following roles together with FG in concurrent list
Police
Prisons
Education
Energy
Mineral and mines
Oil and gas
Environment
Health
Aviation
Maritime
Agriculture
Railway

The 774 LGA should be scrapped and states should be allowed to create, empower and fund their own LGA. States should have supreme courts if they want. To hear matters regarding state constitution.

Nothing like federal road or hospital or university...let states manage that.

This will allow states to grow at their own pace
I'm surprised you didn't mention the most important thing.
REMOVE IMMUNITY

Intelligent discussion still dey nairaland nah, just depends on the topics at hand.. that being said, the bolded to me sound emotional...as in you making it to look we should seek everyone's opinion before we can take action.. well maybe after a century , that can work... but I tell you sir, if Nigeria is going to work, especially in achieving what I suggested in my post u quoted then we need a strict but focus leader..

Nigeria is a nation inside a state..

Emotional it may sound but Americans are not forced or pressured to say "God bless America". They say it because they're proud of being Americans. When Nigerians say "God bless Nigeria", they say it as a form of hopefulness and not like Americans who truly trust their government. I personally don't trust the government. How much can a state develop if there's no trust between the government and the state?

The last line though, I still think Nigeria is a state consisting of nations such as the Igbo nation, the Hausa-Fulani nation, the Yoruba nation and many other nations.

Yes life would have been excellent, but you will not be here. There is an at least 99% probability that your existence would never have been. The course of history would have been different from what it is today, maybe your parents not have existed either and if anyone of them did, they will not even have met at all, life would be completely different, that I am very certain of, ponder over that #butterflyeffect
It is better that his parents didn't meet than birthing him in this purgatory called Nigeria.

You can only 'not Care' because you Exist and are conscious enough to do so i.e 'not care'
I am not against a better a NIGERIA, I'm just saying that what has been has been, this is our reality! no amount of talk and wishful thinking can Change the Past. Let's not wonder nor waste time talking over what could have been, but work very hard to change our present.
When I talk of the Butterfly effect, I am not talking based on what I see on Hollywood or any western TV or media, I did not say anything about time travel either so I don't know why you mentioned that. I am commenting on a real thing, so I find it really shallow and Rash of you to reply saying things like "You people just watch a series and then pronounce yourselves time travel advocate."
Maybe you should research about it too. #welearneveryday #butterflyeffect
