Edo 2020: Will Buhari Stake His Anti-corruption Stance For Pastor Osagie Ize-iya by Afrib(m): 8:30am On Jul 07, 2020
Anti corruption fight gave him a unique edge in his electoral victory over former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election. Major news media worldwide sold his reputation around the globe as a hardy and stern fellow on the issues of indiscipline and corruption.

Hardly was there anyone who at some point was not compelled to buy into the reality of Buhari's growing pedigree, as even die-hard haters of his candidacy, had a momentary quiver in their resolve when confronted with evidence of the President's stiff stance against corrupt practices in his prior years of military rule.
Political analysts have considered such a prospective action (should it happen) by the President in attempting to aid Ize-Iyamu's N700 Million Scandal trial, a major political suicide to his anti-corruption reputation across the globe. Should the president engage in such act of interference, it may give credence to the popular mantra, that once you become a member of the APC, all your sins are forgiven, and this in turn would portray the Buhari administration as being tolerant of and unserious about the anti-corruption fight.

Will the President be willing to stake the seeming political reputation he has built over the years in the anti-corruption struggle, on the candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in order to aid the electoral quest of his party, the APC, in the forthcoming Edo 2020 Election?

Another crucial concern is how the President, who has garnered such reputation for integrity and sternness, appear on the podium during campaigns, to lift up the hand of a man being currently quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as a gubernatorial candidate of the APC; a similar scandal for which Col. Sambo Dasuki, Olisa Metuh et al paid for dearly.

Indeed, Buhari's anti-corruption stance is currently standing upon the edge of a knife, strayed but a little and it will fall to the eternal ruin of all his years of 'hard work' in the anti-corruption fight.
