Since WAEC can do jumia express delivery for one certain President, I see no reason why they can't fix results for everybody in their homes. What is good for the goose is good for the gander... 1 Like |

Their monthly salaries are being paid back to back(therefore they are less concerned) Election will still hold Their own kids are in big schools where they are doing online classes(probably not in the country sef) Rubbish!!! 2 Likes |

SmartProf: OP, kuku tell us you are agent of NECO,aya. This your wrong and foolish narratives is what must be driving the Mallam Adamu,to believe that WAEC should not hold in Nigeria. We knew that they want to place NECO above WAEC, as they are looking for opportunity, since NECO is home based in Niger State, established by former Military Head Of State and to Champion that a Northern is placed in Education. Do you know how NECO has been in corrupt practices?. WAEC is known all over the World as a Master Piece Standard,so what is NECO.Yes,we want safety for our Children, yet why do you think NECO is the Solution. OP,you are so insensitive to the future of Millions of Nigerian Youth, but if to go to Fund Political Campaign,Govt will get time and resources.Hear this,no nation will wait for Nigeria rasmoboge confusion going on in the land.Abeg,OP, park well somewhere!!!! |

So unfortunate. With the right precautionary measure and guidelines, this exams could have been conducted. The exam should be a walk in affair. But of course, WAEC requested for assistance from both federal and state govt and other well meaning Nigerians for the provision of PPEs. I guess that is where the challenge came in. 1 Like |

SmartProf:such a faulty solution. You should instead channel same energy to make the WAEC body more stable and less corrupt and capable of conducting the exams. If only you understand how pre degree and O’level are very corrupt and the big man money they charge ordinary people. You would reverse your statement. |

So now the masses are completely voiceless! Our so called leaders do not longer seek public opinions before acting on whatever decision they wrongfully thought is right. I hope they are still working in lines with human right directives |

9jayes: Must we copy other countries all the time? Even if we want to copy, won't we copy those that are more progressive than us? The USA has lost more people to COVID19 than any other country in the world, yet, at the same time and day our minister of Education was talking about stopping our children from writing exams, the US president was ordering all schools to open. Mind you, we are not yet talking about opening schools, we are still discussing about allowing SS3 students write exams. An Average SS3 student is between 15 To 18 years old and should understand all COVID19 safety measures by now. Besides, if we want to tell ourselves the whole truth, we should ask ourselves where and what are these children doing right now. In answer, many of those that can afford it attend lessons in the morning hours, where there is no physical distancing, neither do they wear face masks. In the evening, almost all of them go out to mingle with their friends, play and watch football. They should use the time to write the exam instead of wasting it. My conclusion once again, unless we are able to do the China type of total lockdown that will be effective, it is complete waste of time holding anybody back from what they should be doing. So far, we all know how Nigerians observe COVID19 prevention guidelines. I see NCDC releasing new confirmed cases for the next three years. So, our children will continue to wait for that long? There is a reason why Nigeria's national Pledge ends with the line: "So help me God". 3 Likes |

kevwemike: Two things to note: 1. There is no rule which states that all registered voters must participate in elections. Even if 1000 people participate in both states and other shy away because of COVID and other reasons, results will be declared. 2. Elections last over just a few hours. Overall contact time will be far less compared to SSCE exams that last over 3-4 weeks. Also remember that some students will need to return to live in their school dormitories during that time. What will happen if they start falling ill due to COVID while the exams are ongoing? 1 Like |

Probity100:Why suspend waec? Waec is 10 times more orderly than election process. You're talking of election being a one day affair, what about the rallies and campaign that will hold before it? The youngest waec candidates will be around 14 years old,and they are old enough to understand covid19 precautions. Moreso, the age group of these waec candidates are perple that will easily recover from covid19,without showing symptoms maybe. The vaccine will most likely not be ready by this year, even next year it may not be ready. Why put people's lives on hold? 1 Like |

uchrikk:Bruv this is Nigeria where nothing really works. The US is in a very bad shape concerning the pandemic so we shouldn't really compare to them. And trump is the only one really pushing for schools to reopen even though many health experts are cautioning against that. He even wants to cdc to change their guidelines . Now Nigeria? How are you going to reopen when those students are being exposed to corona is a hoax? How about WAEC shenanigans? School outbreaks happens, how will necessary steps be mobilised? US can risk it and open schools knowing they have the capacity to handle it(and it hasn't worked well for them). I don't know if you've seen abuad's advert concerning reopening of their uni, tell me the remaining 200+ in the country can do half of that. |

SirWarlock:I don't really blame Nigerians that say Coronavirus is not real. You hear like say 17000active cases bla bla bla but no video of this to show that they are not lying. We have many people that are like Thomas in the bible, they must see to believe. Everybody in Nigeria believe covid-19 is in countries like USA because of what they say.If you watch CNN,BBC,Aljazzera etc ,you will understand what i am saying. All this talk na for secondary Sch then what will be the case for tertiary institution. This year is too bad. |

Alexaonfleek: I thought you would face me but unfortunately, you were looking side-way/back while "talking" I have teenagers at home and understand how they relate perfectly. Even when they are in the midst of friends. Back to points; WAEC does not have the capacity to fund the provision of madatory requirments to prevent COVID-19 but instead rely on schools to provide such. Which means, those health requirements will not be available in most exam centres. Election campaign is optional for members Even voting is optional. If I dont feel safe, I may decide not to vote. But WAEC is mandatory for these teaming teenagers who would just want to write much awaited exam (in High Spirit) without COVID-19 thought in their minds. Aminat508, amiloaded.com understands better Do you have to get them infected because "they can recover quickly". I have to quote that because it is based on assumption that such age have active immune system. But really, if you follow CNN and other news channel you will agree that there is another version of COVID-19 rampant in children (I cant remember the specific now). So, the virus is vast more than you envisaged. Two WHO certified virological Research companies have started human trials two weeks ago, hoping to come out with result by August ending. And there are other companies too coming up their results before October and on and on like that. COVID-19 is deadlier than you think but is not a dead sentence if you follow social distancing rule, use your face mask, wash your hands and avoid crowds, you will be safe STAY SAFE!!!! |
