Madam, show me where it written in the article they had passed plab?

Can't you see that this is a scam organised by professional scammers

So it is only Nigerians that has doctors needed by the Uk??
My dear Nigeria is under common wealth, so it's a memorandum that we still have treaties with UK. Based on employment, previously they consider their citizens, then EU citizens before Commonwealth citizens. But since they've pulled out of EU, we are somewhat prioritised now. It's an organised agreement in employment tiers. UK is highly organised. Moreover they know what they still benefit from Nigeria.

Lol, you have brought your own theory.

Go read the letter well, does that letter look like a professionally written letter?

The letter has no address, has no name. Nothing.

I don't want to laugh .

It is not always about money, there is something called love for your people and land. If all Nigerian doctors run to oyinbo countries because of money who is going to take care of the 200 million Nigerians living here.

Alright I'd go through the write up ßr0

Although UK doctors are dieing, many are resigning. There is shortage of doctors over there now. They won't think twice employing more. Even USA were also asking for same helping hand during this pandemic, same with UAE.
Am sure they wanna post them at ICU's and isolation centres.

The doctors could not have attempted to travel unless there was an arrangement with UKVI. They are intellectuals. UKVI granted them visa waiver.

During this COVID period, if you are a doctor from anywhere in the world and you have a job offer in the UK. You can travel to the UK without visa. Your employer will apply for visa waiver on your behalf and UKVI will issue you a visa waiver letter which will allow you entry into the UK.
They started it during this COVID period because UK visa office in Nigeria and many other places are closed because of the pandemic. That's why they put that in place so that doctors who want to travel to UK to resume job can do that.

I guess the problem was that their employer did not carry the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) along.
UK visa office in Nigeria will soon reopen, so they will leave soonest

A foreign country does not need to ‘carry the destination country” Immigration Services along in visa issuance....and I have never heard of such burden or requirement placed on a foreign company, who wants to employ labor from another country to write that country’s immigration Services.

I believe you don’t expect the Nigerian Government be writing U.K. immigration if they want to give visas or visa-waivers to U.K. expatriates to come into Nigeria to work.

Also, it is not the job of Immigration to ensure that, each traveler have the proper visa for the destination country. That is the responsibility of the traveler and the duty of the Carrier (Airline or Ship) and the destination country fined only the Carrier and not the originating if any passenger is found not to carry the proper visa.

In this case, these individuals have the proper documentation for a visa waiver, the issue of visa should have been left to the Carrier, but the Nigeria Immigration Service stopped either out lack of the knowledge of their job or jealousy.

I hope this is not a scam. If there is a VISA on arrival, the UK embassy here should give them some solid proofs to show at the airport.

MADNESS that the country cannot make PPE.
very simple, get AMALA nylon to make one!

Commonsense99:

You want them to die for nothing?
Where they had to go on strike to get their PPE and hazard allowance? How much do they pay them? How many times do they even pay the little change they agreed without strike? How many states are owing salaries as of today?
By the way over 300 military men just retired yesterday in the middle of terrorist crisis.

Nigeria is not working, and will not work that's what folks fail to understand, everyone should hold the government by the balls, their should be a revolution ASAP if not even more Doctors(85%) are dusting their bags to leave.

Taken the word out of my mouth, something smells fishy, when contacted it went into a voicemail I am not a geek but it’s not adding up. I think this is a scam and they are just interested in the £500 they had to pay, if there were really that important as they make it look with all that’s money to be paid to them, I mean the salaries they shouldn’t have problem paying for their chatter flight my options though.

Let them produce their email letter of invitation. Or let the NES representative that sent down the charter flight give the names of those they want to airlift.

Where is the waiver letter from UKVI? At least there should be an official letter from the UK Government to be presented as a travel document.

The Doctors didn't display intelligence. I agree that it's tough to live in Nigeria but you can immigrate legally following right procedures.

Once again where did they lose even one naira to scam? you really think it takes a fool to become a Dr?have they complained of losing out in any way? It's easy for people in Nigeria who haven't travelled out to think every scheme is scam. You think it's easy or cheap to hire a chartered aircraft? When the Doctors haven't paid any extra dime to the human resource company apart from their air tickets ? Why don't people think for once.

Those guys will still ball anyway, Nigerian immigration is just playing to the galary.
If the UK is not complaining about their travelling without visa, how exactly does it affect Nigerian immigration? This is plain witchcraft as it is, possibly they are demanding to be bribed cause that's what immigration is known for bunch of zoo an1mals!

I’m with you on this. The whole thing reeks of a combination of ignorance, illiteracy and jealousy (bad belle).
As for those shouting scam up and down, I’m looking forward to them eating their words when those Doctors are eventually allowed to board the flight. They have a visa waiver. They have employment letters. They have written Plab 1 and Plab 2 (sorry for those that didn’t see Plab specifically mentioned in the article. The article assumed you had sense to understand that is what they meant by “exams”)
The total cost paid by all the doctors for the flight is not even enough to charter local flight let alone international flight. Yet people are still calling scam. Pull him down specialists. Doctors that spent years in school and wrote their Plab 2 in UK (they had visas that are likely expired by now) fell for a 500 quid scam. Na so. Scam wailers will eat their words before the week runs out.

the letter, the pay smell of scam

For a doctor to practice in the Uk, he or she must have written and passed plab 1 and 2 also the Uk ban all flight from Nigeria, so how will they travel.

So the scammers also arranged the private chapter airplane for them and obtained landing permits for the airplane from FAA?

Excellent. Those Doctors have their GMC licence already. I have read load of craps written by many uninformed persons who know next to nothing about the situation. I currently work for NES healthcare Limited and will be leaving them at the end of this month. They were clearly given visa waiver by UKVI but as you rightly pointed out NIS may not have been carried along.
This issue would be resolved in the coming days and those Drs will still fly to the UK. It's only a matter of time.

It could also be that the Nigerian doctors have been scammed.

Read the previous news and this article bro!

It's a private company that is taking them to the UK, and according to the article, and the email, the UK government already approved and issued them Visa waiver, which allows them to apply for visa upon arrival.

Also, from the first news, NIS denied them travelling because a particular law, which they quoted in that news, stated that no one can leave the borders of Nigeria, except they have a valid Visa of the destination country.

In this case, they don't have Visa, but ordinary waivers sent to their Emails. And even if they wanted to place calls, I don't think those customs officer will want to listen.

What I know is that No scammer will scam just 58 people, when they had the opportunity to scam much more.

Also, why will they go through that stress of conducting exams and interviews for them?

And it's only those who passed the exams and interviews that were asked to pay.

And not just that, they obtained approval for the plane to land in Nigeria and even sent the Chartered flight.

And how much did they collect?

£500!!

It does not fit into a scam description.

They should take NIS to court, NIS does not have the power to prevent them from leaving Nigeria....

In stopping them and stating they did so, because they did not have UK Visa, NIS quoted Section 31, sub (2a) and (2b) of the 2015 Immigration ACT as giving them the power to do so..This is what that section states.....

Section 31(2)..."The Comptroller-General of Immigration may prohibit departure of any person under the following conditions-
(a) If there is to his knowledge an unsatisfied order of a court of competent jurisdiction; or
(b) If there is a warrant of arrest relating to that person, an Immigration officer may refuse to allow such person to leave Nigeria, or in his
discretion, he may refer the case to the Comptroller-General of Immigration for further consideration.

Nothing in that section give NIS the power to prevent departure based on exit visa....It is not the job of NIS to ensure that, each traveler have an exit visa, that job belong to the Airline and the immigration service of the other country.

1. The same government officials that refused to pay them reasonable salaries, will travel to the UK to be treated by the same Doctors.

2. Our government officials don't care because they use private hospitals, and if the private hospitals can't solve their health challenges, they travel abroad to meet the same doctors that they chased out with their nonchalant approach towards healthcare in Nigeria.

3. When Nigerians are serious about being serious about getting the healthcare they want, they will stop selling their votes, stop voting based on stupid sentiments and actually vote for/and remove governments that are failing in providing great healthcare for them - until then watch your Doctors relocate to countries where their skills are appreciated, while you spend days praying for divine healing for diseases other countries have forgotten even exist.

PLAB and IELTS are the only possible exams those guys did to qualify to work in the UK.
You're not in the health sector hence, your limited knowledge on this.

No recruitment agency sets exams for any doctor. In fact, these agencies literally beg you to come in through them. Skype interviews is the standard.

As for those shouting scam scam, what you don't know is bigger than you. Multiply £500 by the number of passengers and research on how much it would cost to fly a return plane from the UK to Nigeria, the answer you'll get will clear your doubts.

To qualify as a doctor in the UK, you must have written and passed plab 1 and 2

There was no flight, there is a travel ban in place

International airport is not opened only local.
Those doctors are post-plab2 and are registered with the GMC already. They were 'trapped ' in Nigeria after coming back from the UK, to process the necessary documents needed for their GMC registration. They were (un)fortunate to be in Nigeria at this moment as many of their colleagues in other countries had joined the NES and NHS already.
You think 58 doctors would be so stupid to fall for this arrangement if it was an organized scam? They have colleagues scattered all over the UK who are doing the background checks for them.
The truth is that the government would not come out to tell people the main reason why they didn't allow those doctors to leave, at least, at this moment.
Remember no politician can travel now. They need those doctors than ever before.
