Conceiving for many is as simple as copulating and missing one’s menstrual cycle. However, this may not be the case for some couples who experience fertility struggles, leaving them in extreme disappointment and sorrow.

A father who experienced first hand emotional and physical travails of infertility alongside his wife took to social media to announce excitedly the birth of his daughter, who finally came after several failed attempts.

Sharing the good news on Twitter, the new father simply identified as Jazzy Jon wrote;

“After 7 years 5 IVF cycles, 9 failed transfers, a miscarriage, 4 surgeries, an ectopic pregnancy and roughly 70 negative tests we are finally able to introduce Sofia Mary Jane to the world! Please share this story to spread hope to the thousands of couples going through similar.”

This elicited congratulatory messages from many Twitter users, spurring other couples who have experienced same struggle to share their story.

One Sarah Paterson sharing a beautiful photo of her child tweeted that she had the baby after 2 miscarriages, 2 ectopic pregnancies, 2 surgeries, loss of both fallopian tubes and 4 rounds of In Vitro Fertilisations (IVFs).

Another mother identified as Kathleen wrote;

“3 miscarriages, 2 stillborn babies, lots of treatment and tests over a 14 year period. My gorgeous Arthur. I am so so delighted that so many of us do eventually get there... and yes, it was totally worth it.”

One tweeted that she had her son, Isaac following several painful experiences.

“7/8years of trying 3 miscarriages which one we lost at 16 weeks (Spencer) and one the day my was due to start taking clomid we discovered she was pregnant. Cervical stitch at 16 weeks, waters broke at 24 weeks and my son Isaac was by emergency section at 36 weeks.”

According to Dean Puckering, she had her beautiful daughter, Adalyn after 5 years of IVF.

She wrote;

“Absolutely amazing. Our beautiful daughter Adalyn was born on the same day, after 5 years of IVF. Congratulations. Its the best feeling ever, and nobody will ever be able to deny your love.“

Another parent wrote:

“Oh this is so wonderful, congratulations! We had our little miracle after 5 IVF attempts, she then arrived 14 weeks early and we spent 4 months in NICU but now she’s home. Infertility and the pain it can cause isn’t discussed enough, thanks for sharing.”
