Eyitayo Jegede, His Street Credibility and The Collective Gain of PDP

Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) needs no introduction for people in Ondo State Political space. Jegede who had earlier caved niche for himself in legal profession before joining active politics about 15 years ago is a leading aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party for Ondo 2020 governorship election.

The Akure born politician served as Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice for eight years and led Conference of Attorneys General of 36 states of the Federation for many years. The Supreme Court confirmed PDP governorship candidate for 2016 poll 48hours to the end of campaigns but he emerged second with close margin despite use of federal might and power play against him by fellow partymen.

As of today, Jegede has wide support base and formidable political structure to win election in all 203 wards and 18 local government areas of Ondo State. Apart from that, people that worked against his emergence from point of ignorance in 2016 are now rooting for Jegede's candidacy after observing the polite and humane politician's attitude, loyalty, commitment as well as dedication to common good of the people. They have seen the real EYITAYO JEGEDE; the philanthropist, dependable ally, faithful party man, active community development agent, Godfearing, loving familyman, caring and responsive leader, and embodiment of patriotism.

As a committed PDP member, Jegede worked tirelessly with other party stalwarts to clinch
two senators, three House of Representatives members and eight seats at the State House of Assembly during 2019 general elections. His commitment by oiling and energizing party structure in the state turned PDP to a beautiful bride for decampees from other political parties including APC.

No doubts, the carnival-like reception Eyitayo Jegede local government tour ahead of PDP Primary election for Ondo 2020 has again confirmed his level of acceptability among party members and the populace. The show of genuine love by excited party leaders, delegates and members is pointer that PDP primaries will just be a referendum for the passionate leader who is on rescue mission and the man with masterplan for all-round development of Ondo State.

Similarly, the caliber of people in his entourage prove that Jegede is the rightman to lead PDP back to Alagbaka Government House through landslide victory during October 10 governorship election, as the coast is clear for him to clinch party ticket in grand style.

For records, majority of Eyitayo Jegede's entourage are all statutory/automatic delegates who will vote during Ondo PDP Primaries slates for July 22, 2020. The statutory delegates are made up of party’s National Executive Committee(NEC) from the state, state party officials, past and serving councillors, council chairman and members of the State House of Assembly, who are members of the PDP.
Others are former principal officers of the state assembly, serving and former members of National Assembly. They are standing with Jegede wholeheartedly.
