Good morning,

I am an Ikeja Electric customer. I applied for a prepaid meter some months ago, which was approved,, inspecrion of properties was done and I was instructed to pay for a single phase meter.

On the 5th of June, 2020, I made a payment of N38,850 (Thirty-eight thousand, eight hundred and fifty naira only)

I notified Ikeja Electric of the payment through email, so as to commence process of meter installation.

Ikeja Electric replied me 4 days later that single phase prepaid meter had increased in price, from N38,850 to N48,625 (Forty-eight thousand, six hundred and twenty-five naira)

I went back to make another payment of N9,420 (Nine thousand, four hundred and twenty naira only) to complete the new single phase price increase. This second payment was done on the 19th day of June, 2020.

I sent an email to ikeja electric, notifying them about the second payment, with pictorial evidence of my receipts to back it up. I also demanded to know when I should be expecting the installation of the meter, which they told me Conlog CIG has been directed to effect the installation of the prepaid meter

Today, 17th of July,2020 makes it 21 working days since I made the second and complete payment of N48,270 for the prepaid meter on the 19th July, 2020.

The law states that prepaid meter are to be installed 10 working days after payment

Too many things wrong in this country.

You need to make a lot of noise. Go to their twitter page and raise hell. See the twitter address below. Someone needs to be penalised for not taking their job serious angry

I've done that already. I've even petitioned NERC and FCCPC (consumer protection body) Still no positive results, the reason why I captioned my headline IKEJA ELECTRIC SEEMS TO BE ABOVE NIGERIA'S LAW

I petitioned FCCPC since November 2019 and only got reference number FCCPC/DSE/C/24881.

Ever since, no response even after numerous reminder emails.

IkejaOLEtric are truly theives and crazy lunatics.

They work in conjunction with the regulatory bodies such as (NERC) to swindle customers, hence their misbehaviours

Most politicians in power are owners of these Discos that why they will never obey any law or directives from the Ministry of Power.
In April the minister directed NERC to release a directive to all Discos that consumers without prepaid meters should not pay above 2k. Up till now all the Discos are still flaunting that directive.

People celebrate like Christmas day if they get billed N15k.
80% of the houses here get N25k to N30k electricity bills

FCCPC finally assign my case to an agent. Let's see if Ikeja Electric will do the needful, and how soon I will get my prepaid meter

My brother go and hire a lawyer and sue them for time waste, and demand a payment of 100k.
