The realm that was birthed and the earth rejoiced,
When it wanted to be named the universe were present,
It was clothed in 'Ifriqiya's gown,
Its cultural innocence brought beauty on its face,
And -- it morally pure value is equivalent to the heavenly doctrine.

During the middle epoch, it produces strongmen,
Who fought with valour and zeal for it.
Also produced women with savour like the aroma of jollof soup,
Whom men saw and lurched their tongue in their mouth,
-- Its was celebrated because of its gold produce.

Some thieves visited with firearms and torpedoes,
Took its life and its men and women wailed,
But, -- its spirit rised and began living as an 'Akudaya'.

AKUDAYA: I am the dead-living blacks realm;
The thieves who took my life were the white
men;
The men and women were my inhabitants;
I am dead because I have lost my culture and
heritage.

The once living realm with pure way of life,
Is dead and the thieves' culture took over:
Hardened life, polluted culture and -- lopsided to the heavenly doctrine.
And -- they rendered the black realm an 'Akudaya'
