On Monday, June 20, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, told the House of Representatives that the former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Joy Nunieh was sacked following a letter from the late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari that she does not have the requisite qualification to occupy a public office.

Akpabio said Kyari’s letter stated that the former NDDC boss does not have an NYSC certificate, adding that the letter formed one of the basis for her removal from office.

He also said the other reason for her removal from office bothers on insubordination and her refusal to attend a meeting of the Federal Executive Council to offer explanation on certain actions of the Commission.

He said “she ignored the letter written to her by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry directing her to attend a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

“She felt that she is bigger than the Minister because she has a bigger budget.”

In a rather rowdy session with members of the House Committee, Akpabio denied claims by Dr. Nunieh that the forensic audit of the commission has not commenced, saying the forensic audit has since commenced.

Am in shock after seeing the headline, shock because I believe a former Governor and Senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria should know the right to HIRE and FIRE belongs to the President of the Federal Republic and this case President Buhari and not Abba Kyari. What we seeing and hearing now is that the dead man Abba Kyari name will be used by cover up for unconstitutional actions of Akpabio and his ilks. It further shows Buhari is not in control of Government.
Further more I see Akpabio running to meet Mamman Daura and Buhari's Personal Assistant to continue thier thievery and unconstitutional actions.

And you dismissed a Government Offcer on these flimsy excuses? You are guilty of Hate and Abuse of office. You seem to log Abba Kyari in to curry Buhari's Sympathy for your selfish motive.

Is it even constitutional for the Chief of Staff to the President to fire a Managing Director of a government agency?
