NDDC: Buhari Dissolves IMC, Moves Agency Away From Akpabio's Supervision by Penaldo: 8:52pm On Jul 23, 2020
The Federal Government is in receipt of the Senate Recommendation that the NDDC IMC be dissolved and
ii. that the NDDC be returned to the Presidency for proper supervision.

The Government set up a technical Committee to study this recommendation and advise it which committee has turned in its Recommendation.

Federal Government hereby accepts the Recommendation of the Senate and accordingly:


1. The President has hereby dissolved the NDDC IMC. The affected officers are to hand over to the most senior civil servant under them.


2. Dabota Godswill Jumbo{Dr)is hereby appointed as sole Administrator for initial period of 6 months.


3. The NDDC is hereby returned to the Presidency for proper supervision.

4. The President assures Niger Deltans that the forensic Audit of the Commission will continue unhindered.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen.Godswill Akpabio asked and got the nod to allegedly usurp the statutory powers of Pres.Buhari to enable him annex & have a firm control of the NNDC, under his powers had in a split of weeks have his fingers burnt in controversies.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari had, through a memo, delegated the effective control of the Commission to Akpabio.

In a restricted memo dated 2nd of September, 2019 to the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, the Chief of Staff stated, ‘The President had delegated the powers conferred on him by Law to the Hon.Minister’.

But the memo also quoted an initial letter written by Akpabio on August 22nd requesting that the powers of the President be transferred to him.

This is where this shit started.Abba Kyari wilfully willed the NDDC to Akpabio known to be under EFCC radar for corruption probe.Then some people will say Mr.president is aware of what is happening under his nose? Mean-while the cabal will continue the Niger Delta where they stop

As for NDDC, the matter must be pursued to a logical end.

Those in charge of the North East Development Commission might be jittery now.
I pray against the spirit of sudden fire accidents at critixalt offices where documents are kept.

This is a welcome development. It would have been an embarrassment of monumental proportion and a big insult to Nigerians if the faint-acting MD had been allowed to continue. Hopefully, the new sole administrator will not tread the path of the previous interim managements.

Nonsense, while we're complaining that the IMC is illegal as it has no place in the NDDC Act, he's gone a step lower in the illegality in appointing a Sole Administrator.
What's difficult in constituting a legit board of the NDDC?
