As technology becomes more and more essential in everything we do, it can sometimes distract us from the things that matter most to us. We believe technology should improve life, not distract from it.

Alot of us are being distracted by our mobile phones, either by Social media, games or some applications, these apps through notifications distracts us most time when we are using our smartphones for something important. That is why TECNO and HIOS Team introduced the Digital Well-being app which is designed to help Android users monitor their phone and app usage, the feature appears as a dashboard that shows you how much time you've spent with different apps, how often you've unlocked your phone, and how many notifications you've received, and it also has a special feature called the FOCUS MODE.

Have you ever been in a situation where you are preparing for an exam or preparing a report, but the notification sounds coming from your phone or the pop up messages keeps distracting and luring you to open them and you cant stop them because if you put off your mobile data you cant work efficiently. All this scenario can be stopped by activating the FOCUS MODE.

Whether you are studying for exams or just want to turn off the constant ping of notifications and messages coming from your smartphone, Android's new Focus Mode can help you resist distractions. Not looking at your phone when you have decided to focus on another task sounds easy, but with the frequency with which our modern devices try to pull us back in, the temptation is always there. "I'll just check this message really quickly", you'll think, and before you know it you've spent 30 minutes browsing Facebook or other social media.

WHAT IS FOCUS MODE:
But what exactly is Focus Mode? Focus Mode is part of Google Digital Wellbeing toolset introduce on Android Pie 9.0 and HIOS version 5.0, It can temporarily pause apps that are the best at distracting you, such as social media and messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook. With Focus Mode, you can silence those apps so your smartphone will not ping with notifications.

Its basically a refined version of Do Not Disturb. Its a mode that blocks notifications from specific apps while active, clearing away any open notifications from those apps, and stopping any further notifications from showing up while the mode is active. In addition, the offending apps will also be blocked during Focus Mode, stopping you from accidentally opening them when you should be doing something else.

Some users confuse focus mode with DO NOT DISTURB, The Focus mode is slightly different from Do Not Disturb, which will silence your entire phone. The focus mode helps you shut some apps not the entire phone but the Do Not Disturb mode shuts all application notification including the important ones and the less important ones, After all, you may want to leave your notification sounds open for important work apps such as Linkedin or Gmail to distract you, whilst shutting off others that are less important at that moment in time,so instead of using Do Not Disturb mode you make use of focus mode.

Do You know you can also set schedules that will automatically turn on Focus Mode at certain times of the day, such as when you are at school or work. You can also opt to 'take a break' from your focused activity and turn notifications back on for 5, 10 or 30 minutes

How to enable Focus mode on your Android devices:
>Open Settings from the app drawer or home screen.
>Scroll down to the Digital Wellbeing section.
>Tap Digital Wellbeing & parental controls.
>Select Focus mode.
>Choose the apps that you want to pause.
>Hit Turn on now to enable Focus mode.
And voila you can now focus while using your mobile phone without distraction from apps notifications.
Note: The Focus mode is only available on HIOS version 5.0 and above.

Thanks to TECNO and HIOS Team for incorporating this beautiful feature in our Tecno devices.
