Also, sin is not supposed to have power over a believer, however, when a believer wilfully, against the will of God allows sin into his or her life, God in turn warns him or her, and when said believer refuses to listen to God....God then allows the devil to have his or her way with him.

Remember Mannaseh in the book of Chronicles. He sinned, forgot about the godly example of his fahter Hezekiah, and as a result, God gave him into the hands of the Babylonians. And it was then he repented.

Or King Joash of Judah. Started well, but sinned, and he ended up being assasinated.
