Wow, how folks totally ignored this thread, thanks for your effort SCDResearcher, i tried taking the survey, please could you make some modifications on it for the answers, like adding "not sure" and "I think so" it will help a lot, the YES & NO option is too far for some answers there based on personal experiences one might have with different patients suffering from sickle cell...

It is hard for Nigerians born in the diaspora to do advance our home such as research, charities, development projects. A lot of times we are met with distrust, extortion and/or dismissal because we

1. Look Like a mumu target
2. We do not speak our tribal language fluently

Please reflect on this. Overall, Nigerian-Americans are not largely discouraged we encounter some supportive and forward minded Nigerians
