The nation’s power generation capacity dropped to 3,313.8 megawatts (MW) as at yesterday, according to the daily operational report released by Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
This indicates a reduction of 487MW of electricity from the 3800MW said to have been generated by the end of last month.
LEADERSHIP gathered that there has been fluctuation in the power output as a result of some factors associated with the operational system of the power stations PHCN said.
According to the report obtained by Leadership from the PHCN headquarters in Abuja, Kainji, Jebba, Shiroro power stations as at yesterday, generated a total of 350, 334, and 284 megawatts of electricity respectively. Egbim, Trans Amadi, Sapale, Ibom, Okpai, Afam VI, Delta, Geregu, Olorunsogo phase II, among others of 961, 21.8, 84, 32.3, 224, 334, 50, 250, 101.5 megawatts respectively.
