The longest Premier League season in history has finally concluded.

2019/20 will be remembered as the campaign that was derailed by coronavirus, but against all odds, the English top-flight was finished in full.

It was Liverpool who lifted the trophy last month, while Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth slipped back down to the Championship.

There was plenty of excitement and entertainment throughout the campaign and with so much football crammed into the last couple of months, to be without it until September 12 seems strange.

Over the last few weeks, I have been analysing some of the statistics surrounding the Premier League season to fill the void.

I am going to continue doing so today by sharing some you may have missed - a kind of alternate look at the campaign - if you like.

Sky Sports have compiled 14 of their favourite random stats, so let's check them out.

1. Burnley's 14-point improvement on the 2018/19 season was the biggest in the Premier League. They finished 10th place with 54 points this year, compared to 15th place with 40 points in 2019.

2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is only the second Arsenal player to score 20 goals in consecutive seasons. Thierry Henry was the first, doing it five years in a row between 2001 and 2006.

3. 25 goals were scored by teenagers in the Premier League this season, with 12 different scorers contributing. Teenagers scored just 19 goals in the previous two campaigns combined.

4. Matty Longstaff became the first teenager to score against Manchester United since 2010 when he netted Newcastle's winner back in October.

5. Tottenham didn't manage a single shot on target vs Bournemouth in July, becoming the first team ever to fail to put a shot on target against the Cherries in the Premier League.

6. Spurs had 80.2% of possession in their 1-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle on August 25. That's the second-highest total by a losing team since Opta started collecting the data.

7. Mason Greenwood became the youngest player to score two or more goals in UEFA competition for Man United. He was 18 years and 72 days old when he netted a brace vs AZ Alkmaar.

8. Wolves ended the 2019/20 season with fewer than 10 league defeats for the first time in the top flight since they last won the title in 1958/59.

9. Danny Ings is the first player to score 20 or more goals in a single season playing for a bottom-half side since Darren Bent scored 24 for Sunderland in 2009/10.

10. Ings was the Premier League's top scorer excluding penalties.

11. Aymeric Laporte has the best centre-back record in the division. Man City have conceded a goal every 220 minutes when he's played.

12. Arsenal reached a cup final in each of the last five seasons they have finished lower than fifth in the league, with their record dating back to 1988

13. Mikel Arteta is the first person to both captain and coach Arsenal to victory in an FA Cup final.

14. 27 of Chelsea's Premier League goals were scored by players aged 22 or under this season. That's compared to an average of 2.25 per season across the previous four campaigns.

There are certainly a few interesting facts there.

Hands up if you knew Arteta was the only man to ever captain and manage Arsenal to victory in the FA Cup? Or if you knew Ings was the Premier League's top scorer without penalties?

The Laporte stat is certainly worth exploring in more detail, too.

Per Sky, he featured in 15 Premier League games during the campaign and Man City conceded just five goals with him on the pitch.

That's compared to conceding 30 in the 23 games he missed. Laporte's record of conceding a goal every 220 minutes is comfortably the best of any centre-back in the top flight.
Step aside Virgil van Dijk, there's a new sheriff in town! But, the Liverpool defender did get his hands on the Premier League title, so who's the real winner?
