Thanks for this. I observe that bank statement is not listed. How important is it for work visa application?

PCC is not part of the visa requirements in most Polish embassies. However, 'certain' embassies may request for additional documents at their discretion. So, it may be necessary to confirm via the visa information webpage or email address of the specific embassy

Bank statement is not required for a work visa application, because the work permit and company invitation letter are expected to contain salary information and serve as proof of financial resources for living costs. You may include it anyway, if you want to.
However, you will need a bank statement when applying for a temporary residence permit when you arrive

Ideally you can include it, and state it even in your SOP, because it shows that you have some savings to keep you afloat before you start receiving salary.

This seasonal work permit appointment from Abuja, would it take more than 4 months to get appointment?

With a bit of luck and if you can fill your online application form very well, you can get visa appointment within 1-2 months.

Is it mandatory to submit a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) for a Schengen visa application?
Does not providing a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) affect visa approval?

I did mine, the list had about 10 names of people to be interviewed on the day.
Only 2 + me = 3 showed up

[It’s possible that the validity of the documents entitling some of the absentees to come to the embassy has already expired or something else I can’t explain but I’d love to know]

My time was 10:30am
5 others were slated for earlier (8am-ish) but only 2 showed up and they had both left before I came.
I suspect this was the case because on the list only those 2 were marked present and their details filled, out of all the people whose time was earlier than mine but everyone else was left blank even though their time had passed.

It was minutes past 9am and I was called in, I was shocked I had assumed I’d have some time to relax and collect my thoughts, I also erroneously assumed the crowd outside were all for visa interview. Only to find out I was the only one present for the interview.

They brought a list and asked of my name and time. I pointed it out to the guy: I was number 5 or 6 on the list.
One Naija security instructed another: “Tell them someone is here for 10:30am”
The white security: “Ok let him in, tell him to come”

It was all good, I entered; I had no chance to explain myself just quick fire questions about 10 questions and that was it. I answered everything to the best of my ability.

The lady went through my documents returned one original, she was pissed I stapled my passport photograph “did you get that information from the gate?” She yelled.
I replied “I did that long before I arrived abuja, I’m the only one for interview at the gate and the form said…” she wasn’t interested in my explanation she proceeded without letting me finish.

The thing pain me small because I felt I hadn’t said the most important thing I wanted to say but I kept it in. played it off.

I was going to say the form CLEARLY states ‘Passport’ with a rectangle for passport and the list clearly states colored 35*45 passport photograph with white background so it was only logical that I or someone else would place the passport on the area designated for passport. You can’t tell me in all the years that embassy has been there I am the first or only person to have placed a passport on the place marked Passport.

This wasn’t some cheat, hack or expo, or even something I thought would be of any real importance. The date of arrival I had thought would be off more importance was scuffed aside like it was nothing. She gave me the document to change something and sign. Write something else and sign.

So that passport Thing was the only notable stormy water or rough play incident, she took off the passport photo and gave it back to me and stapled the second passport to the form

She had succeeded in destabilizing my train of thought, I had to slow down and started repeating my answers twice, and more slowly. I felt she may have assumed someone coached me at the gate and maybe I crammed the answers, since I may have been giving all the answers they wanted to hear.

By 10:08 I was out already. Still no one else came for the interview till my ride arrived and I left at almost 10:20, you’d think anyone scheduled for 10:30 would be at the venue at 10:20 latest.

There were a lot of people present when I arrived earlier but most of them were there to complain and non of them was allowed in for various reasons ranging from no appointment date yet to late arrival and more.

But the number of people there to complain scared me. All the seats were taken some had to stand.

By the time I came out every one of them had left or were leaving out of frustration except one guy who was sitting, [another cause for concern especially for someone such as myself who needs to take a flight to abuja and book a hotel to do anything at the embassy].

All in all I felt it was too easy and I don’t like when things like these are too easy because it’s a little nerve wrecking it feels like a set up, maybe it’s PTSD from my days in University where certain lecturers would give us questions like “what is law” “give 10 definitions of law as test questions for 10 marks” and at the end of the day the whole class would fail because it was a trap or only meant to prove something to us and make us buy a handout. Especially when you know the lecturer has been placing emphasis on names of those who bought the handout and saying things like “you can’t pass this course without this book”, away from my PTSD of easy questions.

To me it seemed easy because I love politics, government, history, general knowledge, geography (I hated geography in school because of the teacher tho) and all that stuff so nothing was challenging to me. As I was answering them I said to myself are you sure this woman will not say I got all these answers from the gate too if she said that about fixing passport photograph to a place designated “passport”. This lady may be paranoid oh or it is just tactics to through me off. Because everything else up until then was 100% smooth.

But then I saw maths and my heart sank, alarm started blowing in my brain I had to calm myself down took 3 deep breathes solved the first and 3rd they were very easy (they had the least number of signs) but the middle one was more technical with plenty signs (x/and divide) so I needed one extra breathe it was also doable and I submitted

Now we await the outcome.

You know how something to you is such a big deal, you’ve spent months or even years gathering and preparing but to the people in charge or on lookers, the guys who determine your fate you’re just another statistic, just another days job, I mean to you it’s months or years of work and preparation to them it’s just another 10-15 minutes in the office LOL that’s the reality of things like these.
Or another more gruesome example is how to the mortuary attendant it’s just another dead body but to someone else it’s a loved one with many shared experiences, dreams, hopes, aspirations etc. etc,

That’s why I hate when things like these are too easy and the indifference is to the max, although it’s better than certain other outcomes. So we take solace in that.

For those who have been lucky and filled with grace to get to this point, my wish for us all is that same grace and luck continues to carry us till the very end. -BB wink

Just an update after a very long time. I was denied the visa they stamped denied on it. E pain me make I no lie that’s why I didn’t come back here to give an update ASAP I forgot about naira land 🤣 it was the least of my worries, but I was also doing Canada way reluctantly because to me Poland was the easy one way and Canada was the difficult alternative

Think of it like aiming for the stars and missing the stars and landing on the moon, I thought I would aim for Canada and if Canada fails I will surely get poland.

Brothers and sisters guess what? I was denied for Poland, Poland that I had all the money, all the documents, accommodation, all the requested documents and letters so when it got denied I thought my own has finished. There’s no hope of traveling out of Naija then Canada asked me for my passport I reluctantly sent it thinking they also wanted to deny me I didn’t want to think too much about it.
I sent it and Canada gave me visa lol 🤣 so since I have been in Canada

I hope you all are doing well and life has been kind to you all.
