To labour all your life to get wealth, when you get it eventually you will not enjoy it |

Vanderandrew: True... That's why Proverbs 10:22 says God's blessings make rich and adds no sorrow or pain. You can labour hard and be rich with plenty sorrows.... but God's blessings make you rich with no sorrow or regrets. 1 Like |

Vanderandrew:But that is not what Jesus Christ has called you to do at all. In fact, in order to be His follower, He calls you to give it all up... everything. While it is possible to pick and choose verses, out-of-context, my you, to suit whatever life choices that please you, the fact is when it comes to God and things of God, there is a context that applies and anything desired outside of that context is subject to the laws of chance, pretty much like the rest of the world, and does not have much to do with God. No one can become a follower of Jesus Christ simply by wishing for it. Jesus required that those who choose to follow Him do the work that He commands they first do. 1. Be prepared to abandon parents, brother, sister, children, spouse, in-laws, e.t.c. 2. Abandon all that you know/believe, have, and all that you are 3. Bear your own burden (not someone else's cross- not even your family's or children's)
4. Become a child again in your thinking and your actions 5. Be prepared to lose life(reputation, career, control, property, etc.) Matthew 16 vs 24-27 6. Desire above all to find and enter the Kingdom of God and also walk the path of righteousness, with God as your guide every step 7. Let go of all control you have over your life and circumstances, allowing God to take care of your every need

Wealth I have found is different from riches! Wealth is abundance of wellness and wellnesses, whilst Riches is plenteous goods and goodies (good things) which every one desires. Hence a person may be rich yet not having things well with him (wealthy) and another may have it well with him yet not having a whole lot of goods (rich). Riches may be acquired, but wealth is given of the Lord! Blessed is he who the Lord hath blessed with both riches and wealth! |
