In 2012, a mass shooting occurred in Deeper Life Bible Church, Okite. The church was on the outskirts of Okene, Kogi State. According to eye-witnesses, gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles entered the church during a bible study session. One of the men was said to have switched off the generator of the church. Then, the other armed men shot sporadically into the darkness, this led to the death...
