The deputy-governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Sept 19 Edo Governorship election, Mallam Gani Audu has sent a congratulatory message to Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror, the newly elected speaker of the Edo state house of assembly describing him as "the embodiment of the collective desire of members of the 7th Edo state house of assembly to ensure the return of legislative oversight into the governance of Edo state for the benefit of our people"

Rt. Hon. Victor "Tiger" Edoror of Esan Central constituency emerged Speaker on Thursday in an emergency plenary session attended by 17 elected members of the House of Assembly and subsequently Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje of Akoko-Edo Constituency II was elected as Deputy Speaker.

In the congratulatory message signed by Mohammed Mamudu, Head of media & communication, Mallam Gani Audu stated "the unanimous vote confirming Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror as Speaker Edo state house of assembly is a testament to his antecedents as a uniting force among his colleagues."

Mallam Gani said: “On behalf of the great citizens of Edo state and in particular my constituents in Estako West constituency 1 whom l humbly represent, I Honorable Gani Audu celebrate the emergence of Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror as the Speaker of the 7th Edo State House Assembly.”

“Mr Speaker, your tenure should usher in a culture of proper legislative oversight in the governance of Edo state, for the purpose of bringing development, prosperity and other dividends of democracy to our people"
