Although the tradition is slowly passing, no one forced ladies to do chores or anything. Back then it was just a norm, where women stay home and men go to work. Soo, ordinarily it was done.

Kneeling to propose is actually white culture, and I wonder why its soo important, when even ladies don’t want to kneel during traditional wedding anymore

The originator is not to blame. He did what worked for him uniquely. It's the idiotic men who are copycats of what someone did for himself and turned it to a norm and the mumus who just imbibe the act without wondering the significance behind it that are to blame. In Africa, you do a lady a lot of favour by choosing to marry her. If she's getting old and you're not proposing, she doesn't mind getting pregnant and doing the proposal so I don't see d significance. Even if she's a virgin and well-behaved girl, proposing while standing does not reduce her or make you proud except shes a bush girl with low self image..
