Over 5 million applications in the app store, a maximum number of apps belong to Google Play Store whereas the rest belongs to Apple App Store. And every hour more applications are being added to the app store.

With so many applications in the market, many are the favorite of many whereas some are not even heard by the users. Thus, it becomes a challenge for a mobile app development company to come up with more number of solutions, technology, programming languages, and so on to come up with robust solutions.

Even after using the best of everything, there are apps that still fails to hook users for a longer run. And this is the reason why following app viral strategies along with ways to increase app user engagement is getting challenging yet competitive today.

Thus, the idea of app development is now also about app user engagement while focusing on things to retain the users for the long run and letting users keep choosing the app over any other application.

How to retain users to the app, there are still a few prevalent things to follow about increasing app engagement along with user retention too. So, here in this blog, we have got you a 5-way trick to get work upon it.

So, without further ado, let’s get started-

5 methods to increase app engagement & user retention

1. Sign up process
The sign-up process is the next step after the mobile app installation. It is the process that lets users add their details, their names and other information to get started with the core features of the app.

However, when we are saying that the sign-up process is the step, the long sign up processes on the other hand are quite irritating and encourages users to abandon the app.

In order to let users hook to the app, you can opt for no sign up in the beginning but ask for it in other stages of the app. This will make them keep using your app. However, there is some application that requires an obvious sign-up process that cannot be skipped like financial apps, stock market-related apps, and so on.

2. Push notifications
Push notifications are the things created by iOS, Android app developers, for letting users know what is happening in the app and what are they missing in it.

These notifications then help users to know the things and quick look of the app processes to let them go straight to the things they are missing. But in the middle of letting users know everything about the app, push notifications also irritates users with continuous and ill timing pop-ups.

Thus makes users skip using the app, abandon it, or encourages them to uninstall the app. Ensure you are not irritating them with too many notifications, pop-ups. Offer them information in a nice manner with accurate timings.

3. The app designing
Designing is the core of any application after the features and functionalities. But if ill designing, wrong color pick, icons, logos are being used in the app UI, the chances of users abandoning the app becomes high.

As the design is something that catches the first attention, offering an ill manner UI can even make them scroll to a different app and not looking at your app again.

The UI is not only related to the color, designing, and others, it is also about how easily you are letting users navigate through the app for features and functionalities.

Thus, in order to let users keep using your app, ensure you are offering them a great visual experience.

4. The content
Any app that is being given to the users is also filled with nice and relevant content. There are apps that fill the spaces with lots of content not leaving enough space to breathe and scroll through the app.

When this was about the content, there are apps that fill the app with irrelevant content like- pop-ups, tips, tricks, and all. This leaves no space for users to search for particular things in the app.

Hence, in order to let your users always choose your app over others, ensure you are using the right content keeping relevancy score higher and in priority.

Remember, Content is always a king!

Social media integrations
Just like sign-up, users want to login to the app via various social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. This helps users to skip the log in process and swiftly use the core features and functionalities of the app.

Thus, adding social media integrations helps in making users come to the app and keep using the app with all ease.

These are a few points stating the importance of strategies related to increased app engagement and user retention. Meanwhile, there is one thing you should keep in mind that, hiring the right and leading mobile app development company will always help you in bringing the right solutions.

I agree with teh second point about pop-up and notifications. I think that they must be but in a reasonable amount. It was the first and the main reason why I started looking for an ew browser and information about how to remove Google Chrome. It was one update when I was attacked with a lot of pop-ups with the information about how to hide info, hide some blocks, and so on.
