Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has promised youths of the state wives if elected for a second term. The governor revealed this when members of five business associations from the 20 local government areas of the state paid him a solidarity visit and pledged their support for his re-election over the week-end in Bauchi. Yuguda said that if he is re-elected, he would ensure that there is security of life and property, as well as creating enabling environment for business to thrive, so that all and sundry would live well.

On the recent crisis in Tafawa Balewa local government of the state, the governor promised to settle the matter once and for all.

“I know that the crisis of Tafawa Balewa has been re-occurring for over 50 years now with different governments setting up different commissions of enquiry, but always dumping the report of such committees without doing anything.

According to him, “I have decided to look into all these reports and implement the recommendation with a view to bringing lasting solution to the crisis.”

It does sound funny and most of us will take him for laughs but the sad and salient FACT is he is the Governor and there are more Public Officers who will continue to govern Rule Nigeria in a state of stu.pidity. they will have supporters and the likes of us who can contribute to meaningful governance in Nigeria will not even be given a second look. We must begin to find ways to supplant idio.ts from positions of power and replace them with pro-active leaders with intelligence.
