I was incharge of the backend for a loan application project. The project failed after many users failed to payback after reporting their BVN as stolen so we couldn't charge their authorization codes to retrieve the funds. Now I have more than 13,000 (thirteen thousand) users information sitting away which includes (Emails, Full BVN information, Phone numbers, Bank details, Addresses etc).

Covid-19 hit my company hard and by the look of things I'll start begging in 6 months time if I don't secure another job. An Idea hit me to sell this data but my conscience just won't let me because something tells me its wrong but the more I think about the future I get more desperate and willing to numb any moral obligations.

What do u guys think about this (fellow programmers) have you sold user data before and whats the worst that could happen?
