A healthy lifestyle and general wellbeing go hand in hand with a good night’s rest. We spend a third of our lives sleeping, so why do we neglect the importance of a good mattress? Mattresses have a profound effect on our sleep. It is better to get the right one that would help you sleep comfortably and address all your sleep needs.

Some of the known side effects of a low quality sleep include drowsiness and headache, these occur after a bad night’s sleep. Other side effects include a poor immune system, respiratory problems, and weight issues.

So do you still want to buy that mattress without doing due diligence? I guess not. Here are five ways in which your mattress will affect your health:

Restful Sleep Take out Stress and Anxiety
It is no news saying that the right mattress improves the quality of your sleep, dozing on a bad mattress can promote stress and affect your mental health adversely. Long term stress and sleep disturbances may lead to depression or other psychological problems.

The Right Mattress Relieves Aches and pain
A quality mattress provides proper support for your body and ensures a healthy sleep posture. It also offers spinal alignment and even weight distribution, unlike a bad mattress, it leaves you sore and uncomfortable.

The Right Mattress Advances Life Quality
Quality sleep improves your memory, performance, and all-round productivity, and thus improves your life quality. A bad bed could lead to sleep deprivation and snoring which could be detrimental to your wellbeing.

Worn-out Mattresses Increases Allergy Risk
Old mattresses harbor a lot of dust mites. Dust mites are the primary cause of asthma and skin allergies; a few symptoms of dust mites’ allergies are pimples, dry skin, nasal congestion, and runny nose. Allergies are a threat to people with sensitive skin or who have a high asthma risk. People with a weak immunological system like children and old people are at greater risk and must use healthy free mattresses.

Your mattress plays an important role in your life and as such should not be unkempt, because good sleep is integral to your well being.
