Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign train berthed in Ibadan recently, leaving in its trail chains of controversy over his description of the opposition leaders in some states in the southwest as rascals. This brings to mind famous blunders of other political office holders and their consequences.

The former Prime minister of United Kingdom, Mr. Gordon Brown will not forget the word “bigoted” all his life. That was the word that handed his Labour party their worst defeat in recent time ,
