Messi is obviously a shadow of himself. His fans just find it difficult to admit that he's on the decline. And again, he's definitely not captain material. He had a very poor season but his fans started counting assists instead of realizing that baba is quite gone. ![]() If Messi stuck to the penalty box, he might still be decisive at this point but no, he must be a playmaker even when it's not effective. Ronaldo and Messi are nearly finished and that's the truth. 3 Likes |

eni4real: YOU...YOU of all people complaining about obsession on a player? What will we now call your own with Ronaldo? Over-obsession? Just one thread and you’re complaining about obsession ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can’t possibly be serious. Ronaldo scored 2 goals and won his match, you people wanted to kill him. You better chop this L with Egusi soup becaus it’s just starting. That match yesterday, I actually forgot that someone supposedly “important” was supposed to be on the Barcelona team. It was until that Alphonso Davies guy taught Messi what it means to “dribble” that I even remembered Messi was on the pitch ![]() ![]() Football is more than scoring goals...goal Messi did not score, even the dribble sef, 0. 2 Likes

It's now obvious that Messi is only human and is on decline... Sorry barca fans, your team needs urgent overhauling and Messi just has to go somewhere else to end his career gracefully. |

Elxandre:Surely Messi is in a decline. Is that surprising? He's 33, of course he couldn't play like he was 25! But he just won the best player of the year. At 32 years old. As old as he is, he is still better than 98 percent of the players in the world. Only Mbappe, Neymar and De Bryune I consider more valuable than Messi today. Even at 33. Barca only needs to rebuild the team around him. All players above 28 years should be moved on. Messi is older and slower now, hit he needs now is a stronger team around him. 1 Like |

Imagine these guys. If Ronaldo was to thrash Bayern as usual, they will come out with their heads high to criticize all the goals. If he scored a penalty, they will call him Penaldo. See Barcelona nau...they couldn’t even find their way to Bayern’s penalty box, not to talk of getting a penalty. Bayern had to dash them one goal...so that they will not spell BARCELONA with goals. Man scored bicycle kick, they said it wasn’t that impressive, his long range against Lyon, they said it was goal keeper error. Lmao ![]() ![]() The funniest thing is: when Ronaldo is going into a match, everyone, both his fans and haters are expecting world class performance. His haters wait to insult him for scoring 2 instead of 3 goals, or for scoring inside the box. See how high the bar for Ronaldo is...no matter what he does, it must be criticized. But Messi...even his own fans weren’t surprised that he delivered a disaster class yesterday. Deep down, everyone knows who the GOAT in football is. 10 Likes 1 Share

Slawormir: Bro you dey watch ball jare. Messi is not the problem. Truth is the burden of creativity and scoring slowly relies on him. If barca can get rid of the old men and get a dribbler like neymsr one wing and a good striker barca will be fearsome with Messi.. In their height the advantage was Iniesta could take out atleast 2 players, neymar about 3 and Messi himself about 3-4 players now when that happens how does a team concentrate players on 2-3 players on Messi? Because that will leave neymar and Iniesta with about 80% of the match 1 vs 1 against other players and your guess is good as mine what that will result to and then Suarez was young and fit so he will be free and finish off the chances but right now before the start of the match because Messi is taken out of defensive work is already 9 vs 10 defensively now Suarez is no longer fit and young to press as he used too now that is 8 vs 10 you come to midfield busquets legs are gone at his age I don't know why now that is 7 vs 10 then finally the old pique that is 6 vs 10 that is why the defense is totally in shambles.. Barca need young legs who can cover distances in defense and attack.. That will help the team and finally pace.. No pace in the team because of old age and is affecting both defensively and offensively.. In the last 3 years I have never seen barca counter attack a team.. How can a team not have counter attack when your incisive passes and pass and move are no longer in existence.. These are Barcelona problems not Messi fix this with Messi in the team and see if Barcelona will not be kings of Europe again.. But the truth is Bartomeu has no vision or strategy for the development of barca he has to go.. His business strategy and transfers is nothing but a disaster. |

Yes you are right, it is time that he leaves Barca even pique has agreed to be the first to leave. But at op remember that Rome is not build in one day. The club was supposed to build while he is still there so that when he leaves they will not feel the impact just like the way Madrid didn't feel the impact of Ronaldo when he left. The club don't wants to invest but they wants to win trophy. Juventus wanted to do the same by building it around Ronaldo but they were not able to do that hence they were kicked out in round 16. Messi is not their problem but the club's management has failed to secure the services of better players who should have replaced the likes of xavi, iniesta, puyol, Pep, Neymar and so on. A tree can not make a forest. Thanks Op |

This is what Barcelona need - Sell a lot of tired legs - Bring in hungry Bright boiz, especially playmakers - Add Defenders with leadership attitude. That's all The major problem is that Barcelona has only ONE playmaker, Messi. if Messi isn't creating chances, no one else is doing so Messi himself needs to also up his attitude as Captain. When losing I expect to see him shout and ginger team members, no just walk and stroll when opponents are with the ball. This change can only come from a coach who has Balls. Similar article was written in 2013 during the 7up but when Neymar and Umtiti came in, The attack and defence got a face lift. It can still happen again |

With Messi still in the team no player no matter how good will perform. He has tried so much for Barca and those super form cant be for ever.Griezman,Couthino e.t.c all got to Barca and cant get there act together again.Barca just have to face the reality that messi is diminishing and so is the team built around him |
