Who Killed The Man? by ReubenE(m): 7:15pm On Aug 15, 2020
Sometime ago in Lagos Nigeria, a young man (John) in his early thirties got fed up with his existential reality....because general poverty, frustration and rejection were the key drivers of his every day life.
For the above reasons, killing himself (suicide) became attracted to him as would a swarm of bees would gather round a honeycomb.

Again, there is a young man (Femi), who for over a year had a running battle with his newly married wife over certain disagreements centered around infidelity.
Overtime, they both agreed for a divorce, but the woman (Sarah) wanted more than what she could possibly get.

So on this faithful day, the frustrated young man having given thoughts to taking his own life decided to walk up a 25 storeys building in the middle of the city, very much determined to jump down to put an end to his misery.

Coincidentally, the couple fighting themselves over infidelity and divorce also found themselves in that same location in one of the opposite buildings on that faithful day.
While having a verbal exchange of bitter words, a melee ensued between them.

Unfortunately for the couple and the young man attempting to commit suicide, something happened that divided opinions till this day on the big question; who really killed the man?

The young man (John) jumped off the 25 storey building, but while he was still in flight yet to reach ground zero, his head was struck by a stray bullet before he could touch the ground. Obviously, he is dead.

Incidentally, the stray bullet was confirmed to have been fired from the Beretta pistol of the couples fighting themselves albeit inadvertently.
Sarah fired the gun in self defence while Femi was trying to strangle her to death....

Now, the question on everyone's lips is:

Who killed the man?

Did John kill himself or he died in the hands of the shooter?
If the answer is the latter, can the shooter be charged with manslaughter over a suicidal man that was already doomed to die?

Secondly, What if John had died already midway after taking that jump long before the bullet struck him?
Even if not so, the young man could have died after hitting the ground without anyone shooting at him....

In law, it is irrational to believe John would die anyway after jumping even without the bullet.
At the same time, it beats all known parameters of common sense to believe the young man could have survived after jumping to the ground.

*The big question is 'who really killed John?*

For some, It is morally wrong to sentence another man to death or life imprisonment over the death of a man that was already doomed to die.

On the other hand, some believe there would be no justice for John if the couples are not punished for putting a bullet in his head.

Where do you belong in the divide?

Keep the opinions coming.
