First reply to question: Yes

After thinking and thinking, and thinking, and remembering things in my life up till this moment, and remembering the streets of naija, and remembering primary school, and remembering garri and kuli kuli, and remembering pure water, and amala, and ewedu, and rice and beans and indomie, and carry bucket on my head to fetch water, and remembering NEPA, and remembering Reciting "national anthem every morning", and remembering "Ass whooping", and remembering basically everything, and thinking and thinking DEEEEEEEP!!!!!! You know what?? The answer is STILL YES!!! Yes i would like to be born again as a Nigerian.

If my parents are generous billionaires, I can be be born again in any country and live a wonderful life!

@Hot-angel, you have obviously not suffered enough, but it's not every Nigerian that experiences such things.

Am proud of everything cos am better than most Americans as i am now.I proud.
Re: Would You Want To Be Born Again As A Nigerian? by Nobody: 3:05am On Apr 11, 2007
@9ja4eva
Nobody is saying you are not better than most Americans. But remenber that its their country. How many Americans are in Naija?
If Naija was better, you wouldnt have left her for US.

And maybe you left Naija as one of those rich kids, its ok; but over 70% of Nigerians would not be proud of encountering armed robbers at least once a week, poor power supply, poor water supply, ever increasing house rent, poor take home pay etc. Not many Nigerians are enjoying living below 1$ per day.

Maybe you should try and go back, stay, study and work in Naija to show how much you love her. When there, dont go living like a princess in your dad's mansion in VGC; fully airconditioned room, a soundproof standby generator and a chaffuer driven vehicle for your quick and easy mobility. Go to AJ city or mushin area, find a family of 7 living in one room; stay with them for one week. After that, maybe you will understand my own view.

Re: Would You Want To Be Born Again As A Nigerian? by ebeledi(m): 6:31am On Apr 11, 2007
i am always proud to be nigerian

most nigerians seem so myopic about patriotism

all other 3rd world countries are proud about their roots but when it comes to some nigerians it is differnent

yes i would come back as a nigeria
rivers state stand up
Re: Would You Want To Be Born Again As A Nigerian? by 9ja4eva: 6:41am On Apr 11, 2007
Exactly.I am always proud.
Re: Would You Want To Be Born Again As A Nigerian? by Nobody: 8:43am On Apr 11, 2007
@9ja4eva
I'm neither saying that there are no such situations in US nor that i want to be born as a US citizen; my arguement is that you dont have to be proud of being in the condition that over 70% of Nigerians are in. Besides, you cannot compare the harsh living conditions of Naija ghetto to that of US ghetto. Otherwise you will find out that you are the person that is not being real.

I really do respect your opinion, and so do i wish you respect mine too. I've been to all these places, i've lived in their ghettos and i've come to find out that i would not want to be born a Nigerian again, unless to a clean rich billionaire(CONDITIONAL).

@ebeledi
Its either you left the country as a rich lil kid like 9ja4eva or that you dont understand the topic.
I think the tread is talking about personal wish not patriotism. And even if it comes to that, you should not be in US studying; you should go and enroll in Naija uni, so you can partake in the ongoing ASUU strike( university strike) to show your patriotism.

IF YOU WERE IN NAIJA UNIVERSITY HOSTELS, I'M SURE THE LITTLE ACCESS YOU WILL HAVE TO INTERNET WILL BE TO CHECK YOUR EXAM RESULTS; THATS IF YOUR SCHOOL HAS WEBSITE.
Re: Would You Want To Be Born Again As A Nigerian? by 9ja4eva: 8:51am On Apr 11, 2007
Stop d rich kid thing pls.I respect ur opinions.What makes a man is him being proud where he comes from and am proud of NIGERIA.
