This is apt! Messi should be allowed to go 'cause sooner, he'll have to retire/leave and what then becomes of a messi-dependent barca? Barca should allow him go just as madrid allowed cr7 go. It will help them to pick up from that 8-2 embarrasment.

Ronaldinho never controlled the board or coach ... barcas problems started when they brought in Ibrahimovic to replace eto as a response to real madrid buying cr7 ... now the top scorer competition was meant to b between ronaldo and Ibrahimovic but messi insisted that he wanted Ibrahimovics position so that he messi cud compete with ronaldo... that was the reason Ibrahimovic left after just one year ... messi has been controlling the team since then and now the chicken has come home to roost .... the moment xavi , iniesta , Dani alves and Neymar left , they became irrelevant in Europe and it was just a matter of time before they wud start to 4k up the league as well.... messi tot he cud do it alone... players that cudnt shine at barca cos of messi ... sanchez, Ibrahimovic, Neymar , dembele, coutinho, greizmann , paco alcacer, mention a few ...these players dint do ultimately well at barca but did exceptionally well b4 they joined or after they left ... when messi don't want u , ud automatically flop at barca

Baca should focus on building a team rather than building individuals. Some old players need to step aside and let the younger ones take over. It has being long since I heard of Barcelona fc academy.

I am a Barca fan, but I agree with you on this. Shey you know that misery loves company but no hiding place for Barca over the last result.

Hopefully, this will be a catalyst for Barca's resurgence.

As much as the board has its problem but the players too more than have their fair share of problems. Previously Abidal criticized the team for showing little effort when things don’t go their way and Messi replied asking Abidal to mention names. Also Sieten’s assistant had problems with the players too for lack of effort of which Alba almost had a problem with. My point is the board and Abidal don’t play on the pitch and obviously these players know what their jobs are but have failed to do so. Even at that, the way and manner they have failed is utterly embarrassing to say the least. The coach and board isn’t supposed to tell the players to run, mark and close lanes when playing. The players are professionals and should know how to do damage control, and there goes my problem with the leadership of the team.
The blame goes not just on Messi but also on Pique who seems too busy with politics and Madrid. The leaders of the team have failed.
I remember when Madrid goes through a rough patch, Ramos at times call the squad together, organize meetings and even private dinners to discuss how to remedy their season. There was an Classico in which Barca beat Madrid by more than 3 goals and Ramos rallied the team to seal the defense and not concede more goals since the game was lost already to avoid further embarrassment.
Messi as much as the board have blames on their head and Abidal to me is just collateral damage.
