VIRTUAL CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS INNOVATION IN CRITICAL TIMES

The Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs Meflyn Anwana has revealed series of activities to mark the 2020 World Entrepreneurs' Day in Akwa Ibom State.

On Monday, August 17, 2020 during a radio interview with Ibom Business Update on Comfort 95.1 FM, she announced that Friday 21st August 2020 will witness the rise of emerging entrepreneurs across a broad spectrum of industries.

Anwana commended Governor Emmanuel’s Dakkada Philosophy that has yielded the inculcation of the spirit of enterprise in the average AkwaIbom youth. According to her, the week began with a visit to a cross section of arts galleries to explore the value proposition and sectoral collaborations that would scale Artrepreneurship as well as a visit to Mask and Raffia Makers in AkwaIbom

'Artrepreneurship refers to the creation and pursuit of novel ideas by those who engage in artistic activities,apply, share, distribute creative work and actions that ultimately drive the market process. “This year's event,
seeks to beam light on innovation, technology, food processing, tourism, destination marketing in particular that will inturn drive economic variables to strengthen the ecosystem.

Already, numerous founders in Akwa Ibom have scaled their ventures by ensuring right practices. The Governor’s aide hinted of plans to give a lease of hope to the creative talents that make up several components of the art eco-system, in form of knowledge sharing or seed investments to fire up collaborations that will make it a value-added contributor to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the state considering the opportunities that abound.

To round up activities marking the World Entrepreneurs Day on Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Akwa Ibom State Directorate of Marketing &Brand Management, a number of Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors are billed to headline the virtual seminar and are set to guide participants on how to achieve that 1-5 billion naira raise for their companies.

The speakers for the conference are: Leapfrog Ventures founder and CEO, Takuma Terakubo,BITFXT Technologies CEO, Franklin Peters, Goge Africa CEO, Nneka Isaac-Moses and a host of others.

The annual World Entrepreneurs Day holds every August 21st, is a day marked across the globe to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership throughout the world. The theme for this year's event in AkwaIbom is ”Innovation & Entrepreneurship”.
