Anambra has way too many people!

That is one state I can say that I am jealous of.

However, I find comfort in knowing that Igbo warriors come from Abia.

Go on but with well established facts.

According to Oral traditions, when Oduduwa arrived at Ife, the ruler was called Oreluere and there were at least 5 rulers before Oreluere. Oduduwa's wife's name was Okanbi. There was an uprising at Ife and the rulers of Ife went on exile and migrated to present day Ugbo (Ilaje). Oduduwa was subsequently made king because of his skill in hunting and herbal medicine.

Oduduwa, though his sons expanded the Yoruba kingdom.

Clearly, there were Yoruba people at Ife before Oduduwa. I don't want to go into Oduduwa's origin as its still subject to controversy.

Who are these people below in Yoruba history? are they real people or just deities? If they are people where is their place in Yoruba history?

Obatala, Orunmila, Agbomiregun and Ifa

Obatala, Orunmila, Agbomiregun and Ifa
Accordingto Odu-Ifa, Obatala is the creator of humans and he gave power to Orunmila who is the father of Agboniregun who tutored Ifa on the science of divination

that is one of Yoruba myths that projects these people as deities, right?

but there is a faction of Yoruba history that connects them to Oduduwa and by large proclaim Obatala as the true founder of Yoruba race.

If you are from Ondo state, then you can make a list. I will start for you

1. Michael Ajasin
2. Olu Falae
3. Bode Olajumoke
4. T.B Joshua
5. Brig. Samuel Ademulegun

You can also annex Ekiti state and claim Fajuyi, Adeyinka Adebayo, and all the professors there.  grin

Naijababe is correct. Obatala is God; not a person. Nothing connects Orunmila and Agboniregun to Oduduwa. Yoruba people can not even agree on the origins of Oduduwa. I have my theory about Oduduwa.

Apart from Obatala, no one else there is proclaimed as a deity. Ifa is largely regarded as Atona (guide), and Agboniregun supposedly inherited the science of divination from his father Orunmila, don't know how they are connected sha

All story, there really was no origin, just a group of people trying to come to terms with their existence.

In terms of Yoruba people, the hierarchy of states in terms of notable indigenes is:

Ogun & Lagos
Oyo
Osun & Kwara (yes suck it with own that place too)
Ondo and Ekiti

And why is Ekiti at the bottom? I'd think Ekiti was in the same league with Lagos or Ogun state.
