It's Unbiblical! Unscriptural , Demonic , Occultic and Satanic..

The Presidency should be well advised! You don't Start a War you Cannot Finish.

It's Foolishness to think or try in any Form to Fight against the Church of God.

U can't even see two mosques side by side in a street. On Friday, the smaller mosques will be closed and all Muslims will proceed to the central mosque to pray something which u can't see in Christianity on Sunday. Every pastor believed say his or her church is the best, hence the reason why u see seven to eight churches in a street, all because of money. A Muslim whether shitte or Sunni can enter any mosque and pray but a Catholic cannot even worship in a celestial church neither will a Baptist worship in Cherubim. The koko be say u can't make money in a mosque but u can make cool cash if u have your own church. The CAMA law is not different from what we have in Europe and America and pastor like Oyedepo respect the law over there. The law is for all religion that mismanage the financial income of their institutions including NGOs.

I am just thinking aloud. Is this new law not affecting Muslims too?

Why is MURIC not protesting? What if this law was introduced during Jonathan regime? How will MURIC react if Jonathan signed a law that gave government the authority to remove the Imams of any mosque?

Would CAN oppose this law if it was enacted during Jonathan's regime?

The fact is that religious inclinations has blocked the rational thinking of most Nigerians.

My honest take is that people should have the freedom to practice their religious beliefs without discrimination or government interference.

If you are a Muslim or Christian, do you call those who practice traditional religion derogatory names like pagans and idol worshippers?

Religion is really the "weed"" of the people!

"

This should be your conclusion. Government should not detect what the church does.

These CAN people are really unwell.

Does this new Act not affect the mosque as well?

Why are they crying as though they are the only religion in Nigeria?

Imagine them justifying that because government did not contribute a dime in the setting up of churches, hence cannot control / regulate it. Did government contribute to the setting up of countless other organizations that they not only regulate but also impose various taxes on?

*CAMA 2020*
Pls read the submission of King Arthur, Esq with an open mind.

*Suspension of Trustees and Appointment of Interim Manager(s)*

Section 839 (1) empowers the Commission to suspend trustees of an association and appoint interim managers to manage the affairs of the association where it reasonably believes that-

(a) There is or has been misconduct or mismanagement in the administration of the association;

(b) it is necessary or desirable for the purpose of;

i. Protecting the property of the association

ii. Securing a proper application for the property of the association towards achieving the objects of the association, the purpose of the associationof that property or of the property coming to the association,

iii. Public interest; or

(c) the affairs of the association are being run fraudulently.

By the foregoing provision, the Commission can lawfully suspend the trustees of an association on the grounds stated above. If the subsection were to end there, the concerns of unbridled power raised would have been justified, but it does not end there.

Subsection 2 provides as follows:

1. The trustees shall be suspended by an order of Court upon the petition of the Commission or Members consisting of one-fifth of the association, and the petitioners shall present all reasonable evidence or such evidence as requested by the Court in respect of the petition.

Subsection 2 therefore expressly provides for –

A. Who has the locus to suspend the Trustees?

Answer: The Commission and the Members of the association in question.

B. What are the Conditions Precedent before the action for suspension can be heard?

Answer: A petition detailing grounds of a breach as stated above, reasonable evidence, and with Members – a quorum of one-fifth.

C. How can the Trustees be suspended?

Answer: By an Order of Court.

This provision is not ambiguous.

Thus, the discretion of the Commission in its “reasonable belief” is still subject to the approval of the Court, the likelihood of arbitrariness by the Commission in subsection 1 is curtailed by subsection 2; if the Commission (or members) acts outside Sub 2, it is null and void. The Registrar General cannot just wake up on the wrong side of the bed as being touted and suspend the Trustees. The law is not subjective to sleep positions. It is the Law. There are grounds for which evidence must be adduced by people recognized by law to obtain an Order of Court before the power conferred can be exercised.

Subsection 3 provides for the hearing of the petition and the appointment of the Interim Managers by the Court with the assistance of the Commission. The Interim managers are designated by the Court or the appointment of any person who cannot do as otherwise instructed without the approval of the Court.

The Court has the final say, not the Commission and not the Members. If the argument against this provision is that of lack of trust in the Judiciary to play its role by law, that is a different conversation altogether.

Good to know.

Please, I think you should post this as a Thread.
Its going to be interesting.

CAN is one of the most useless organisations in Nigeria.

An umbrella body of strange bedfellows. Anybody can open a church, even idol worshippers, as long as they send stipends to CAN.

ICAN has more authority over its members than CAN has over its own because ICAN got legal backing to sanction erring members.

Buhari is here to attempt to destroy Christianity. Although God will eventually stop him but for now he has divine backing to make life uncomfortable for those who chose to be more focused on their personal comfort than the well being of the masses in the pews.
