WHO NEEDS AN AFFIDAVIT?
An affidavit is a written statement that is considered made under oath. It is a written version of swearing under oath, to tell the truth, thereby asserting that a particular statement is true and that you are competent to testify if called into court about the information provided.


The affidavit document is signed by the person making the statement, also known as an affiant or deponent, and by someone who is legally authorized to administer an oath, such as a notary public or certain court and government officers.

By signing an affidavit containing false information can cause the deponent to be subjected to criminal penalties. This is why it is important to read the document thoroughly before signing and ensure the information is correct and truthful.
