The Yoruba language is one that is spoken majorly in the south western part of Nigeria, they are a very urbanised and outspoken tribe plus they are one of the largest ethnic groups in the nation.
Yorubas are very rich in culture and the language itself still is divided into more languages. In the sense that we have the ijebu language which is also under Yoruba, just like we have Ijesha, this is also under Yoruba.
The dialects are numerous and when you put them in writing, one word may have more than 5, in short, 9 meanings, let me show you a list of them.
The word 'Ogun' for example has about 9 meanings.
This word means medicine, it also means charm, it means war, there is a state called Ogun, the god of iron in Yoruba's history is called Ogun. This same word means sweat, it is used when someone stabs another person, it means one's property or inheritance, finally, ogun is the number 20 in yoruba numerals.
Secondly, let's look at the word 'Oko', this word has as many as 6 words.
It means hoe for farming, it also means car, the word is used as husband, the male genital, a farm and finally, a stone.
Thirdly, the word 'Ola'.
This word means wealth, dignity, it also means tomorrow, it is used when someone breaks through and the fifth time it can be used is if someone licks something.
Fourthly, the word 'igba' has four meanings.
The word means time, it means calabash, it is the number 200 and the garden egg is called igba.
Fifthly, the word 'Iwo' means horn, it means poison, it means you and there is a local government in Oyo state called Iwo.
There are many more, which one do you know that I didn't mention

In as much as I agree with u OP, it should also be noted that yoruba words are basically identified according to its marks (Àmì). Its these marks (Do Re Mi) that denotes the sounds of words as well as it meanings from one another even if they have the same spelling.

Example:

Kòkòro which means insect and
Kokoro which means Key
Kókóró which means African walnut
