Haiku is a Japanese poetry form. The best haiku uses just a few words to capture a moment and create a picture in the reader's mind. It is like a tiny window into a scene much larger than itself. In English, haiku is normally written in three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line. So if you are ready lets go! I'll start , The fierce thunderstorm excited dormant clouds anew In blinking seconds. |

O good. I like haikus. I was starting to wonder if I was the only Nigerian that knew about haikus. Embers in the hearth, Are coaxed by the passing wind, But bring forth no flames. I composed that when the attraction I felt towards a certain person died, and the feelings were no longer kindered by seeing them. I am coming with more to keep this going, although I foresee an early death for this thread. Many Nigerians are not educated. @Kodewrita and Lindalee, Your last lines both have six syllables. |
