I don't get why am independent, profit making company would require govt permission to increase prices. Instead of the govt interfering with such companies, why don't they try to break the monopoly that such companies possesses by encouraging home grown companies.

Multichoice has a monopoly in Nigeria market that need to be broken. because when demands outstripped supply, the prices will always go up.

On the other news, there's a way you can cheat them back that you won't be paying them a dime and you watch for free. They won't even notice.
