Hello Nairalander, I truly need your advice.....
I hail from one of the remote village in Enugu state from a poor family of seven children(2 males and 5 females) but has been living in the northern states of Nigeria for close to 15yrs now with my only elder brother who is a generator technician,he saw me through my primary and secondary school.During those time in school after closure I do work with him in his shop. Till 2016 when I completed my secondary, anyway he promised of sponsoring me to higher institution majorly because none in our family is a graduate, some never completed secondary..But when getting admission became very difficult for me, things began to change, I myself started loosing interest in furthering my education, I even overheard him saying to his friend that maybe we were not destined to go to the university, he also included that he will settle me with the sum of 1.5m to open a shop and start my own life if going to school didnt workout.. Fast forwarded to 2020 when I finally got admission to one of the polytechnic although not to my course of choice but still hard to accept it hoping to transfer to the university later, not up to 3 months in school brother Coro sent us back home with no hope of when to return to school.Hmmm, another one year is becoming a waste...Thinking of the unemployment rate in Nigeria, I now wonder if I should still hold onto going back to school whenever it resumes or ask my elder brother to settle me now. Mind you I am 22 this September and will almost clock 30 before graduating from school....My greatest fear is what if the luck of employment don't hit me after graduation, cus then I wont go back to my brother for a dime....

Bro, after reading your story it seems you don't like education and you are using age and your family as excuse.

When you will gain admission ,you will see people that are older than you by far, some of them you are better than them.

If you enter at 22 you will finish at 26 .

Before I leave, those people that will tell you forget school, school nah scam. They are graduates , most of them are Masters and Ph.D holders .

Bro, get the certificate first.
